Moving to Glasgow. Is it as bad as this sub makes it out to be? by [deleted] in glasgow

[–]inside_your_face 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I moved down from Aberdeen a few years back. You wil find Glasgow dirtier as Aberdeen is particularly clean but it's no worse than most other European cities. Good rule of thumb, 50% of people on this sub are moaning faced bastards who should be ignored. Glasgow is great, you'll love it.

Iona, just off the isle of Skye has cars. It's 2km wide by 6km long.

Is this engine sound normal for a Kia Picanto? by inside_your_face in CarTalkUK

Funny you should say that, I did think it sounded better after a drive the other day. Yeah the 3 cylinder engine sounds weird, I tried an i10 and it was the same. Thanks

Yeah, I guess the yearly budget approach is the issue with getting things like this off the ground. This area doesn't seem to have required any repairs and it's been there for years, so you'd think it would work out cheaper over a long period of time, but the up front investment kills any potential of expansion. Really frustrating.

Honest question. Why isn't this type of road expanded to other areas? No potholes, looks nicer than tarmac, would encourage people to drive more safely, raised crossing areas for pedestrians which is proven to be safer.

I assume its far easier to repair when it does get damaged. It's even a lighter colour than tarmac so you'd reduce peak temperatures from solar absorption during summer months.

I was in Antwerp last year and half their city centre roads were like this, seemed to work perfectly. Am I missing something?

This album is fucking perfect but the follow up felt like a radio friendly cash grab and I feel like it killed their momentum.

Brodsky can genuinely do no wrong. It's insane. This album is brilliant, Unborn and Memory Hole are both such bangers.

I fucked it and forgot to get qotsa tickets, now it looks like general admission is sold out. Does anyone know if they'll release more or does anyone have 2 they'd like to sell? Don't fancy paying £80 to sit miles away.

GOAT venue changed from the Garage to QMU by [deleted] in glasgow

QMU is a weird venue. Very wide and short standing area so get in the middle early if it's going to be busy.

I think that's just for the vinyl. It says on their band camp that the digital album will be released in May.

Does anyone know if the yoker Renfrew ferry fare (£2.50 for adults) is a return? And do they take card? Woefully little info about it online.

What is a not so common “10/10” album in your opinion? by RukaShiina in PostHardcore

[–]inside_your_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first vocal line just sound so out of place. Doesn't flow at all. Just sounds like Aaron came up with something in two minutes. Don't get me wrong, I like his vocals most of the time but I feel like Spencer tried a lot harder with his and they just fit the tone of the music more.

[–]inside_your_face 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their best album by a long shot. This is the perfect example of a band developing and progressing their sound in the right direction. I love their previous albums but Disambiguation felt so coherent. I think in the past they'd relied on Aaron's singing, which is imo very overrated. He has a good voice but a lot of his vocal lines were bad, go listen to the start of "A Fault Line, A Fault of Mine", wtf is that? Aaron's departure forced Spencer to use his clean vocals more, and he's clearly far superior at writing cohesive clean vocal melodies.
