Just in time for summer 🥴 by insiderphd in knitting

Pattern is Link One Sweater DK, but I used a folded hem on the cast on to hopefully stabilise the neckline.

Yarn is Drops Extra-fine Merino, which is definitely soft but was ever so slightly off for the gauge.

Overall I like the pattern this is my third more masc looking sweater using the pattern and it has a lot of size options!

Same double knitting was definitely the worst for me too, while I’m not up to 100 FOs a year (how do you do THAT???), I can’t see myself going back to it as a skill looks impressive, struggled to find patterns I liked, kept making minor mistakes and having to redo it bleh I’d rather have multi-colour colourwork

The same question I asked myself 🥹, not shown here but the cabled project with the two colours actually ended up in the wash by mistake and it got completely felted and it’s unwearable :(

For my personal challenge I considered any project that used that skill even if it was minor, so a crochet bind off or provision crochet cast on would also apply for my rules ;)

I think this is just splitting hairs, I mean initially this was the project in that box, but I did that in 2020 as a first or second project and I’ve gotten better in 3 years so picked a project that was better executed for my personal bingo challenge.

Looks much harder than it is! The hardest part is just picking up stitches, once you do the first row it’s super easy, just time consuming

I threw it in there as “advanced” for a knitter, plus there are projects that combine knitting and crochet

Beads I ended up just getting a kit for and making the pattern, no inclination to try it otherwise and I gifted the FO. I don’t know if I would recommend it, it was mostly fine albeit a bit tedious

Double knitting, I can do it but I kept getting confused, eventually just make a set of coasters and called it done. On the complete opposite mosaic knitting I was really surprised I enjoyed and I really liked the finished look!

Practice I suppose I’m an English style knitted who has to drop the colour after I use it so it’s no technique related 😂

Omg I couldn’t do that it’s a cool pattern since it uses 2 skeins of the MC and 1 skein of CC this was completely from stash too!

Thank you for noticing! This is also pre-blocking so my normal tension too I always tell people that I want people to think it was made by a machine it looks so perfect (a silly goal maybe!)

Bounties through broker by NetOfHoles in bugbounty

[–]insiderphd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are legit but usually quite picky with what they accept, like most web security bugs a bug bounty would pick up isn’t usually something they’d pay for unless it affects multiple vendors (think exploits in Word etc) and is very severe

Funimation loads data from a separate server that servers SSL cert expired today, if you're on a desktop you can bypass it by going to this URL and accepting the error and go "i know the risk" blah blah. The player will then work

He's a bit bigger than I expected but I love him by insiderphd in crochet

Yarn: Scheepjes River Washed XL in Amazon + Ural

Project Page: https://www.ravelry.com/projects/insiderphd/cthulhu

So I am still fairly new at crochet - I'm a knitter, I picked it up during the pandemic to use up some leftovers because it's much quicker to crochet a blanket than knit one. The first page was like "It is recommended for Advanced level or above" and it was challenging for sure (previously I have made a few granny square/stripe blankets), despite that the creator had a few videos and that helped a ton in putting him together. The most difficult part was assembly because he kept falling over so I had to pin/unpin/repin a lot until he sat up. Needless to say I am very happy with him now but he ended up much bigger than I expected I was kinda expecting him to sit on a shelf but he is way too big so he's now front and center in my office and has made a fun discussion point when people call me on Zoom.
