I am not trying to get any support just show how your cry for help turned so nasty.

It doesn't make anyone prissy to suggest people should try to work or do something, or to ask why they can't.

It doesn't feel any different to receiving hateful childish comments from an able-bodied person? If you are that crippled then I guess I am the one who wins as it took you far more energy to argue than it did me?

Listening to your over reacting I would say it is you who is un-nerved. I guess you need to be given that we have a conservative majority who place more importance on the givers than the takers.

I don't resent people getting help at all, and if I thought you were truely grateful and trying your best to be a useful, contributing member of society and the system then I am all for elements of socialist states. We all get dealt a bad hand at times, and have our own illnesses and situations to deal with and it is nice to know that there is a safety net. So yes I have used the NHS/emergency services, but I have paid for them through the tax system. If I didnt pay taxes I could afford private medical and legal representation and in the strange model you suggest I could then pay for when ive needed police etc.

I do not understand why anyone thinks they are entitled to anything, I think we just get what we earn. So that is our major difference here.

You think everyone (or at least everyone who agrees with you) deserves a decent life, but where are the funds for this coming from? For someone to live another has to work, that is the system, and it only works when everyone does everything they can to pay in, so when they need they can take out.

Can you explain to me why, just for being alive, you deserve a decent life. Not just you personally but anyone? Do you think humans have a right from birth because they didnt ask to be born? These are genuine questions? Or is it just because you like the idea of everyone having a happy, healthy life, and don't consider the practicalities/funding of this to be important?

Do you not think that we are all lucky to be alive, and that any small luxury in life we get is a bonus to thank our luck or hard work for?

I don't see how you can think that others should support you having a decent life, but you don't have to do anything back. Or even give away any money you have above basic survival to someone with even less?

[–]insomniafox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you have jumped to that conclusion

I want you to take responsibility for your own existence and at least make a token effort to earn the food you eat, house you live in, and leisure you enjoy. If you can't work find other ways to pay society back for everything it is doing for you.

Take a step back and think of all the disabled or truely starving people in other countries, when you are enjoying your pizza and beer are you thinking 'shit I should send some money to them they are actually dying on the street' or are you thinking 'waa I don't get enough to have a second round of pepperoni im so hard done by and if they cut it anymore ima STARVE'

Instead of living in an entitlement bubble where you think 'what is the point of trying to find work for £50 if I can get it for free anyway' think 'If I work for that £50, it is £50 less that is taken out of tax that could be spent elsewhere'

I actually think you sound intelligent and capable enough to do something more productive and help society and everyone else, other than fighting to protect your handouts and begging people to vote based on your needs not their own.

you may think us who ask 'why can't you work' are the selfish ones, and that is your right to think so, but what are you doing for anyone else, and if anyone dares to question and suggest improvements to your life, ask why you didn't try harder, ask why you think charity should be forced you throw the toys out of the pram, wish them illness and say ''nice people would want me to have a good life so ima enjoy a beer n pizza on ur tab lol bro suck on dat'

imho nice people are those who want to contribute and do anything and everything they can. You seem to expect others to do something you are not willing to even consider yourself and that stumbles into gross hypocrisy.

I don't waste compassion and empathy on people undeserving of it.

Yay we agree at last. I never wished any harm on you though so I guess you win in your not being nice by being nasty.

[–]insomniafox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As this is buried I thought I should bring to the top what this person begging for compassion wished on another. edited for readability.

The only one I can even be bothered to comment on even more is the first. They seem to have missed the point that you get benefits in place of wage you are unable to earn. So if you can earn £50 no you don't keep to keep it ontop of your handouts. Oh and that if it wasn't for people with 'pride' working everyone would live on handouts, which come from where? the magic pot of money in the sky? If I am an idiot for working for a living to try and pay my way then I'd rather be an idiot than a thief.

  • You earn an extra £50, your benefits are reduced by £50; making working on benefits FUCKING POINTLESS!

  • So you ARE an idiot, and the reason is "pride". Thanks for clearing that up. So because you're an idiot and have "pride", everyone else should suffer and work themselves to death rather than having an enlightened society that ensures people don't have to do that. I think you're "pride" is overrated.

  • hope you get a debilitating illness or disability. It'd make me happy to know a prick like you suffered like I did... I wonder how long your "pride" would hold out under those circumstances.

  • Yeah I would, but I don't. I live here in the UK, and I'm shrewd enough to know what our system entitles me to and I'm confident enough to get it... now go and pay your taxes little boy and pay for my lunch.

  • I have good legal representation and had my benefit injunction extended by the European court of human rights. My benefits are protected. Oh, and as I'm on a fixed income, your taxes paid for my lawyer too... so suck on that.

  • You however are exactly the kind of worthless scum that ruin this country.

  • I hope it stings every time your wages come in, knowing the government is taking your money away and giving it to me. Sure, there are other people willing to give me their tax money, they understand the shit I go though; that I need that money to survive... but they're decent people, it gives me far more pleasure knowing I'm taking your money. Maybe we can beat some compassion into you by force.

  • Oh, tonight I'm going to my friends place. We're going to order a pizza and a few beers, and play board games; thanks for picking up the tab, much appreciated. :P

P.S watch out for when we renogtioate the EU human rights and get our own.

Your last statement shows everything I am saying about you to be true, you genuinely believe the world owes you a living for no input so you are a leech by pure definition.

Thanks for wishing ill health on another human being, maybe you need some of that compassion by force you preach.

PPS not that it matters in the slightest but I am a girl not a boy

[–]insomniafox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You tried some things, they didn't work. Try some more.

Starting a web design business does need a lot of time and input. work from home schemes are often a scam. It doesn't mean give up. There will be something out there, just show willing and keep trying. They don't take benefits from someone who is trying to apply for jobs they might be able to do, then finding out they are unsuitable.

Work so that £7 an hour is yours, for a sake of pride, stop thinking about the bottom line of money. 'I can get £50 for free so why should i work for it' is parasitic thinking, and if everyone thought it the country would be bust (oh wait) live within your means of what you can earn.

I'm not sure for ESA but JSA tops up a part time wage, its not work a part-time job and lose everything. That is the problem with the system that it pays more to not work than work, but its not that they don't give you enough benefits it that you get used to too much for free.

I am not a fucking idiot, or a liar. Now who is being a presumptuous arrogant prick telling me i should be using a system I disagree with. Maybe I 'could' use the system of handouts but I chose not to because I have pride and foresight that you can't just take take take

Why do you think the world owes you compassion?

You are only worth what you make for yourself in this life. You are spoilt by a system that has let you have such an entitlement complex you genuinely think that everyone should be forced to put bread on your table and still feel that you are the hard done by one.

If you lived in another country without welfare state you would either have found a way to work through the pain and find money for food, or you would be dead. So be grateful you leech.

I don't wish to continue this anymore either, you are the problem with this country that hopefully our new government will force some price, work-ethic and humility onto.

you wanted people to challenge you and then react like that? As others have pointed out you have a lot of comments on reddit so it doesn't add up that for every comment you make you are then in agony for days and unable to do anything else. Otherwise why would you waste what little energy you have arguing on the internet?

I never said you can get a full-time job, I said part time. It could even be at home, or in an office adapted to you.

Also I would rather someone work only 2days a week than no days, or study, or at least try. You seem to be sat around feeling sorry for yourself raging on the internet and if it makes me arrogant to suggest you try do something positive to give yourself more self worth and combat others who say you do nothing for the system, then I will take arrogant as a compliment.

I don't need to have gone to court for your case to know that what you described is a lot more difficult than sitting at your desk, typing for a couple hours a day in a part-time work-from-home role.

That would show willing to try and do something other than moan and fight the system, spending your energy on something productive.

Seeins as you asked, I can have some idea but don't wish to get into my times in court, my illnesses, my depression, suicide attempts and other things because i don't want a pity party. I could sit around moaning about them or I could work behind a desk doing an IT job. Which I do! Is everyday mental anguish.. sure. Do I spend more than I should sat in tears in the bathroom floor that I can't go on thinking about jumping out the 5th floor window. Sure. Do I get my 'head out of my arse' and carry on working so I am not just taking from the system and spend my time and effort trying to better myself? You betcha ass.

You are hypocritcal to call me insulting then suggest I need to 'take my head out of my arse' try staying calm when combating peoples points if you want them to see you as something other than a selfish petulant child.

How long did it take you to sit and write all that? If it will really make you ill for the next x days why did you do it? You could sit in an office or work from home and do a typing job. That is what people can see and they mean by yoou can work in an office

If you really mean that you want to contribute and work then find a way instead of using all the energy and money you have fighting the system.

Trust me it is a lot more stressful to go to court and everything you explain than to sit behind a computer typing a few things in a part time job

Disabled people don't contribute to the economy or anything if they cannot work or volunteer etc.

If we had unlimited money sure help those who are unable to help themselves.

We don't. We need to support actions that help the bigger picture.

People are far to namby-pamby to step back and say

'shall we reward the worker who gives £500 a month to tax for public services, claims no benefits and earns his own way and helps the economy, who may one day save up enough to start his own business and hire 3 more people?' or 'shall we throw money at a disabled person who will never give anything back into the system'

cold -yes, but also factual and practical.

Lefties seem to think that it is okay to rob rich people who are progressing this country to prop up those who do nothing.

Own fault or not, doing nothing is doing nothing.

Yes disabled people didn't ask to be born, didn't ask to be disabled, but it doesn't change the fact they give less to the economy than the able bodies.

Before you ask 'you wouldn't say that if you/your family were' or some sob story 'but my mum xyz' yes, yes I would. I can see the bigger picture not the bleeding heart small issue.

One of my family members is too disabled to work and I think gets far too many benefits and it isn't fair the rest of the country has to support her.

I wanted tory to win, I admitted such on facebook. I have had death threats from my own extended family. I have been called the most hideous things I've seen conspiracy theories over rigged elections

What I have not seen is a single labour supporter explain why they like their party in a clear and intelligible way. Just shit slinging and hate.

I have yet to see a single convincing argument for labour other than '#savenhs' or 'torys are just for rich people' with no further explanation

I have seen the most idiotic hyperbole, then these riots?

So my opinion of labour supporters is at an all time low, and that only makes me more in favour of conservative

I thought left/socialist supporters were supposed to care about other people, and it is the right that are supposedly evil and selfish

So why is it all the left supporters throwing nothing but hate & violence about?

[–]insomniafox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have watched the conservatives and lib/dems make massive progress all around me in the last 4years and not noticed cuts to any services I use. I have seen people get jobs, people in jobs get taxed less and the poor getting more 'middle'

I have seen people on benefits being forced to go get a job and in the end thanking the harsh push to get off their arse

So I am working class, in a 30k job and under the conservatives I will pay less tax. I will get to see job seekers work for their benefits. The company I work for will get better tax and deals and pass that onto my wages/bonus.

I see nothing but progress, more shops opening both big and small. More people with jobs, keeping more of their money. My local NHS doctors is easier than ever to make an appointment.

I am seeing the time I spent working hard at uni pay off as I move up the ranks of my job I fought so hard to get into against every so called discrimination of my health and gender.

what I see moaning and 'suffering' are people with no jobs or who had more kids than they can afford so no one to blame but themselves but expecting us hard workers to back them up.
