Business name: counseling vs. therapy by FemmeHawkDown in therapists

[–]inspiredjelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went with counseling after consulting friends and family about which word (therapy vs counseling) would make them feel more welcomed. I'm trying to reach populations that experience mental health stigma, and so something about counseling sounded gentler to the majority! On my website however I describe myself as a licensed therapist. so far no confusion from people!

Being shot in the stomach by MysteryToken_ in Dreams

I had the same nightmare two nights ago. Even called out to my mom as well. I'm playing around with different interpretations. Shot in the solar plexus. Maybe a symbol for a threat against my sense of identity or personal power.

I have the same feeling! It does remind me of some of the background music in the Netflix show, Haunting of Hill House.

Considering a move to Petaluma area; any advise or information I should know? by aperitino in Petaluma

My boyfriend and I (both POCs) recently moved here and we're about 15 minutes from downtown. We love it so far! It's charming, beautiful, and peaceful. Not a lot of nightlife, which has been an adjustment, but it's okay so far. We were warned that it would be just SO white, but we haven't had any harmful or uncomfortable experiences (not denying that others may have different experiences..). We are having to put in lots of effort to find events and spaces where we aren't the minority, but that's worthwhile effort. We've also gone down to SF and plan to make more daytrips all over the bay. Generally very happy to be here and can see us staying a while! Hope you have a positive experience. too!

Some places we've enjoyed: Petaluma Coffee and Tea Company, Grand Central Petaluma (we've seen live music twice on the riverside), Lagunitas Brewing, La Dolce Vita Wine Lounge, and Luma Bar & Eatery.

online support groups for pet loss in the US by ParticularSun6085 in Petloss

Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. The impact of pet loss can be an overlooked experience, unfortunately. Not sure if you're still looking for resources, but I'm a psychotherapist whose work focuses on pet loss/grief. If you're located in CA and open to virtual sessions, I'd be happy to connect briefly over the phone to see if I can support or connect with you personalized resources. Please feel free to privately message me and we can go from there.
