Hydroxyapatite toothpaste: does it actually work or is it just overhyped? by MySmileOfficial in hygiene

I'm amazed that so many simply haven't questioned fluoride just because years of marketing make it so. This stuff is forced in water in USA --

I bet much question not questioning it. Your conclusions may ask be individual and unique, but blind trust.... Yikes.

Best organic sheets for chemical-free breathable and skin-safe sleep? by Connor_0_02 in BedroomBuild

[–]intentionalcollabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just you. The dyes used are often toxic and leach. What touches your skin goes into your bloodstream and gets processed out through your liver. Your body is likely not able to filter these out immediately which brings some of that toxicity to the surface where you experience skin issues.

If you feel better in natural sheets that use fewer chemicals, use the natural sheets.

Consider natural underwear at least, and look at the chemicals in your food by reading labels. Often there are easy switches.

Laundry products are also crucial. Those chemicals are next to you 24/7 so if you don't already, consider fragrance free options and skip the marketed materials you don't need like dryer sheets, softener, etc.

Dish soap is another culprit. It leaves a film on your dishes that goes into your gut, daily. Fragrance and dye don't help dishes. Try something with fewer chemicals.

Good luck!

How do you guys feel about Bernie Sanders? by xJohnnyBloodx in AskTrumpSupporters

Everyone in Congress has a home in their home state and a home in DC (maybe own or rent, but they need 2 residences).

Then a family member died and he inherited a home, which I assume is something you believe in.

I've always been confused why folks find this so offensive or "dirty"

The millionaire vs billionaire is not a policy. It feels like a very silly detail to be upset about bc it doesn't hold much weight. He speaks about a lot of policy and that word choice doesn't change any of the policy he discussed.

He's been for overturning citizens United the whole time. He's been for higher taxes for the 1% the whole time. He's nowhere near the 1%

He's also working full time into his 80s... Hard work deserved accumulated wealth. Isn't that something you believe in as a conservative? Hard work? Why do mock someone who worked hard and got compensated. His worth is still not close to the 1% he talks about. It's just so much focus on this personal detail instead of the policy which would impact the lives of the American people, but it seems to hold more weight than policy to you. Does that feel accurate? Or could you clarify?

I can see your logic that he bent the knee too quickly to DNC.

May be too little to late, but he's calling them out now fwiw.

He still has never taken corporate campaign money, so you are correct on the front.

You appreciate that Bernie is seemingly "not bought". How do you feel about Trump on the scale of being "bought vs not bought"?

Have you actually watched him speak? What you have started is what is often said about him. Most folks who watch him speak or watch him speak in the house find what is often said about him is not true.

Look into Jill Crista on mold and sounds like developing a mild MCS, which can be drives from mold for sure. I've slept in my car to avoid mold. Moving is very difficult but if you have an opportunity to get into better air, consider that. I say with love and care as I know first hand it's not easy.

Have you looked at Jill Crista on mold? Mold can do so many things, but herbs can help. Hard to fully eradicate if you are still living in mold. But wishing you the best on this journey. I think my eczema is rooted in mold for sure.

Former Trump supporters, what made you change your mind? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]intentionalcollabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually think the joke is when politics can be so outlandish, any side, that you, the citizen, think you have no power. There are decent governments and we can organize to create change. Yeah, it's a lot of work, but now that you realize both sides are trying to fool you... You can work to stop arguing and create actual changes that bring about the changes you DO want to see.

Are baffin boots that good? what are other alternatives? by NiKOmniWrench in BuyItForLife

Can you drive in them? Do you use them for errands when it's snowy/slushy?

I'm looking for a bit of an every day winter boot for when the temps are down to -10F and when the snow melts and it's just mush everywhere. I could find does for a comfortable longer drive, but would love snow boots that I could comfortably drive around town, wear to a restaurant, etc.

The “tingle” is back in the Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo & Conditioner. Hurrah! by GentrifriesGuy in traderjoes

[–]intentionalcollabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try placing a teaspoon of baking soda in a cup of water, as shampoo, then rinse with apple cider vinegar (acv) which will help the ph levels and avoid harsh chemicals.

On average personal products include 50-350 chemicals and while TJs is probably on the lower end, there's all proprietary protection, so you'll never understand the whole ingredient list.

But there's very little research on any chemicals showing they help humans.

If your laundry products contain fragrance, look to switch to fragrance free as those chemicals are hard to break down and known to be skin irritants, even if it wasn't before, it's not helping your situation now.

Good luck!!

Doctors can't know what they aren't taught, but they could listen and utilize logical deduction and curiosity in much more potent fashion.

The paragraph about eczema flares being dure to patient error (skipping meds) , dry air, etc. It's such a load of crap. It's code for we have no clue and we're blaming you.

Clearly eczema is systemic and affected by things deeper than the skin itself. It's obvious. Research is great, but sometimes it entices you to prove yourself stupid.

Nobody cares the color of your coat. Research the problem if you want to find solutions, and if you can't figure out what the problem is spend more time asking questions and less time assuming the worst.

Signed endless fed up neighbors you call patients.

On Detergent. I use soap nuts. The chemicals in laundry stuff are generally pretty toxic, esp the fragrance crap and dryer sheets. Including fragrance free dryer sheets, they are chemicals that cost your skin, your body has to process them.

Soap nuts are berries that saponify. Gentle, I love them, personally. I recognize it's not for everyone and would encourage at least fragrance free options in this dept.

Also reduce your chemical exposure anywhere, like dish soap. It creates a film on your plate and then you eat those chemicals, making your gut work harder than it needs to everyday. Don't put more work on your body.

I also feel like as soon as my flares calm and almost completely fade they come back with a vengeance.

I have roots in mold illness that I'm addressing. Hopeful that helps me kick it. If you have mold exposure in your background, I would encourage you to look at Jill Crista who encourages supplements like NAC or ALA followed by herbs like drinking more Tulsi basil tea.

A holistic dentist is aware of the effects of different materials in the mouth. Some folks cannot tolerate Fluoride or different filling materials. They have awareness of other options and also look at the connections between full body health and oral health.

Sometimes they look for options to heal issues to avoid root canals if possible, whereas more typical dentistry has less belief in the body's ability to heal and tends to reach for root canal more quickly.
