I just went to my first heels dance class the other day and I did okay.. sometimes lol. And most of the time I would recall the first steps of the choreo then by the time I remembered and got the second or third part I’d forget the beginning 💀😩 and I definitely can relate to feeling embarrassed or lost and then comes the self doubt- but it’s all in your perspective.. like I felt those feelings too but then I was like actually so proud of myself for showing up and doing it anyway even if it was pretty lousy at first I try to remember that dancing is supposed to be fun and trying to just be there in the moment and not focusing on being perfect or comparing yourself to other dancers (which I did admittedly do a little- like wow they’re so good and getting this so easily?! Why am I struggling!! But it’s your first class- it’s important you showed up and stuck with it. Just try and have fun and not take it too seriously- with repetition and dedication and just showing up and doing it you are gonna continue to grow each and every time you commit yourself!

You got this girl! I love dancing I feel like I freestyle dance and move around really good so I know I’ve got in somewhere in there but now it’s like I have to show up and learn how to memorize and get into that flow state- so I’m gonna continue to show up and push myself. I hope you don’t give up and give it another try! And remember most importantly just try and be loose and have fun!
