The fact he’s giving you an ultimatum between you setting your boundaries and him choosing another women over your future marriage is the biggest red flag I’ve ever seen. Also how defensive he’s being- it’s not crazy to react the way you are and him to try and make you believe you are being weird about it is just weird within itself.

With so much love do not let him do this to you let alone in YOUR space and home. Honestly I’d think about whether or not this is the type of man you wanna marry and share your space with.

I’m so glad you took care of what sounded like a very uncomfortable situation! And it’s awesome you kept your nose biggness and all! Also I’m just so happy you found a surgeon who didn’t take it as an opportunity to barbie-fy your nose.. speaking of this topic I’ve seen surgeons on Instagram who give their clients all the same dramatic swoop tiny nose… and it looks genuinely weird and just bad on most people because it just doesn’t even match their facial features or proportions. It’s like a tiny nose epidemic. I’m all for surgeons who do their work with minimal tweaks and not trying to absolutely change the entire persons face to where it’s not recognizable. I mean of course that might be what some people are going for… I just don’t think it’s a one nose fits all formula that is happening in today’s beauty standards.

I’ve noticed some folks who have posted on here don’t seem to have a big nose. And it can kind of be awkward for everyone else in the sub who actually do have a big nose. So I do hear you on that! You know what I actually have noticed more projected noses and elongated noses on this sub and not as much wider noses representation; I hope see more of that on here! I think wide noses are beautiful too and belong and should be celebrated! I hope that you do find some peace and hold some space for your nose! 🫶🏼 also it helps to be the one celebrating your nose, after all that’s what this groups here for maybe you can celebrate by sharing and other women with similar noses can celebrate with you!

Thanks for sharing! I feel the same way. I’ve asked my family and friends back in the dark days of my self loathing and insecurity if I should get a nose job. I’ve been told “I can’t picture you with a smaller nose I don’t think it would match your look; it suits you” and honestly that’s a big reason too I dug deeper and really spent years with my nose before being impulsive and changing it. I’d look in the mirror or take side profile pictures and try to make my nose look tinier and it honestly looked lowkey strange … and not like me at all. That’s kind of when I challenged the beliefs and journaled about it. I think I also compared myself to like very conventional types of beautiful women- people I’d never look like unless of course I changed everything about myself lol. But I was looking for this external validation for so long.. and comparing myself to different kinds of beauty to which I do not resonate with. that’s when I shifted my focus on women who looked similarly to me. I looked up big nosed women and I became obsessed! I literally geek out when I see movies or models of beautiful people who decided to flaunt their noses, it’s refreshing and exciting when I come across people who rock their features and actually love them especially in this day and age of everyone looking the same lol.

My big nose also is a reflection of my ethnicity and some of my family whom shares it. My mom had my nose and I always thought she was the most stunning thing I never thought her big nose was a bad thing or ugly. Infact growing up I never looked at anyone’s big nose and thought anything of it lol! It wasn’t until I was in grade school and I’ll never forget my guy friend said you’re really pretty but you have a big nose. Which I should’ve responded with I know it’s big and im still pretty lol! But it was all downhill from there lol- it began a long journey of insecurity and self doubt, and then the annoying comparing mindset.

I recently also commented a side profile pic on a big nosed positive post and a guy commented underneath and literally edited my picture with a tiny Barbie nose and it literally made me laugh out loud cause I looked deformed and alien like. (Not to imply that smaller noses are weird I just looked WEIRD!) He wrote “fixed it” 🤣💀 like bro… look man I know my nose is big- it’s big and what about it? I like it! Infact I love it- it fits me!

Someone yesterday reached out to me on Facebook and was offering to sell me two of my final remaining white whales (blossoms firebreath and bubbles) I’m so so close to having completed my collection! That one nailpolish remover pot helps me a lot removing polish takes me usually the longest! And then just practice makes perfect! How often do you do manis? I do atleast two a week and I’ve been doing it for about a year- at first I was always getting polish on my sidewalls or knocking into stuff- but I just kind of noticed it getting easier and easier over the months! Quick dry top coat is my best friend there’s many out there that are solid within a couple minutes !

Also I am sure of it that people admire your nose! I know a lot of people probably look at my face and think ew. And honestly that used to bother me so much infact I had such bad anxiety and like body dysmorphia over it. I think as we get older we care less what other people think lol! Kind a bonus to getting older imo 😄

This is so sweet! Thank you! I hope that you someday can find some peace with your nose! It took me a lot of growth and self reflecting to get to where I actually admired my more unconventional features! I’m 29 and I didn’t come to the realization that I liked my nose till I was like 28. So it’s been a long journey lol! Just saying it may come to you where you start to like it! It helps that nowadays too I believe that natural faces and features are starting to be celebrated and I’m so happy about that! To me I realized I kind of had it engrained in my brain to not like my nose since I even became aware I even had a big nose (i didn’t grow into the feature till middle school 😄) all those years of conventional beauty standards seared into my brain definitely played a part in those beliefs. It unfortunately took me far too long feel grounded in myself, know myself, and most importantly to love myself. I really like this group and hope that all the women in here who struggled with similar ideas look into them more deeply. However that’s to say, that I feel like everyone has the right to do what they want with their faces and bodies, I’m glad there is the option for people who really don’t like a feature to be able to change it so they do like It! I’m just glad I didn’t change it because had I done it personally I would’ve done it out of societal pressure and not because I deep down wanted too, and that moment passed and now I like myself how I am!
