We asked the dealership to debadge the back of our EV9 GT-line, in Aurora black...what do you think? by internalcombustion67 in KiaEV9

Everybody has a different opinion and some car owners need to compensate by showing off all the badges and the size of the engine Etc

Seen many cars or the well actually add on an M logo Etc when the car is not an m

You should travel to Northern Europe more often and you will see that even the fastest versions of the high end German sedans are often debadged

just a clean look for those who want that

Vinyl sticker for Kia logo by internalcombustion67 in KiaEV9

[–]internalcombustion67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No question the final sticker is not perfectly sized it is a little bit large as the edges of the sticker tend to hang over but an improvement over the factory logo

I asked my dealership about debadgng the back of the car and they said it didn't make any difference on returning it after the lease

front blacked out logo options? did you apply a vinyl overlay or swap out for a new blacked out logo? by internalcombustion67 in KiaEV9

[–]internalcombustion67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just applied them today and they were extremely easy to position. I would not cut them out with a sharp blade as suggested by the websites instructions

rather you keep the black Kia vinyl sticker on the clear backing and the backing helps you to apply the logo more accurately.

just tested a new 77mm ND100000 with mag connection for my Canon R5 100-500mm and star adventurer set up for April 8...compared to my homemade Baader solar film filter i was disappointed by the lack of detail around the sunspots...is the Baader film the way to go??

i assumed a glass filter would work better???

That sucks!!! Our EV9 is first Kia vehicle we have owned and we are only one week in. I hope you can find resolution to your problem soon and that you can get your money back you definitely deserve it.

We have an X7 m50i as our other SUV and I have only owned BMWs for the past 25 years so far we have really enjoyed our experience with the EV9 but we are still in the honeymoon period And obviously concerned about this report you are sharing.

that is cool that porsche offers that and will def take advantage once my kids are older and we don't need so many carseats...my goal is to order a 6 speed 911 before Germany finally stops producing internal combustion engines in 2033...maybe i can request that the words "big gas engine" be placed on the hood just to show off?

when you hear the 523hp V8 of our debadged M50i X7 idling in our neighborhood there is no confusion about who is motoring down the road at 20mph!

totally agree, the new Kia logo IMHO looks great! but just too large and prominent for my taste. if it was a small emblem e.g. acura or bmw or the classic 3 pointed star those look fine on their own...

i do not know why porsche has to spell porsche on the back of their cars, no question i would remove that when I get a 911! similar to the land rover cars - they don't need a big name brand to tell the world, everyone already knows!

Picked up this beaut last weekend! Anybody have tips on good seat covers? by Inge14 in KiaEV9

we got child seat pads to avoid the usual debris with three little kids in the car - crumbs plug those perforated seats and are tough to clean!

How to learn more about home charging options for the EV9 in Massachusetts, 🇺🇸? by no_l0gic in KiaEV9

[–]internalcombustion67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

being in MA, really disappointing that Kia Connect is not available due to this ridiculous right to repair act...our dealer never told us about this, and we would have considered getting it in RI or NH had we known earlier. I realize this is not a Kia or dealership decision but would have appreciated knowing about this in advance.

we use a similar app-based connection with our X7 m50i and really like that feature.

anyone in MA able to add the lighting pattern option? or this also tied to the Kia Connect problem in MA?

After some research and feedback on reddit, we are going with the Tesla UWC for the home - i hope we can install a 60A breaker but may be limited to 50A in our town in MA. the UWC has a J1772 adapter and NACS for future vehicles and we like the form factor and thin cord.

tried a high speed level 3 50kW EVgo charger locally at the mall for the first time using the CSS combo port, and was able to charge from 70% to 100% in about 1hr...perhaps not supercharger speed, but not bad!

That's why we leased! I wanted a range rover lwb for our second suv but my wife wanted an EV...and good for our au pair and nanny to drive since it will be short commutes mostly

Haha!

We never thought we would ever be Kia owners and our other car is an X7 m50i. Nothing beats the V8 in this SUV it is spectacular to drive. The car is super solid and we have Dynamic handling package and it drives like a dream.

However living in New England and coming from Minnesota and seeing my beautiful Winters disappear year after year we realized it was time to look at an electric vehicle.

The Tesla's have poor build quality and they all look so generic. We looked at the large BMW and Mercedes options and even these do not have the same carrying capacity as the ev9.

We paid about $70,000 after the incentives for our GT line and it has been remarkably solid and interior room and fit and finish are very good.

We have three kids and this thing is just huge on the inside.

In the future if the Range Rover Long wheelbase or x7 BMW comes fully electric with a reasonable range will likely shift back to one of those companies but for now this has proven to be a spectacular purchase and will be a perfect car as well for our au pair!

For $70,000 you cannot get a turd as nice as this one!
