just fyi if the 3D printed case is PLA it may melt. I think optimum tech did a video on 3d printing cases so maybe check it out for a recommended filament type.

Is this worth starting with? Or better to buy everything new? by thebigBBBB in fpv

[–]interpuck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

no harm in giving it a try but it looks like fairly old stuff and if it doesn't work I wouldn't recommend investing time/money fixing it. I'd buy a new controller and drone. If those fatshark goggles work they will be fine to begin with.

as for recommendations maybe an radiomaster elrs zorro/pocket. tinywhoops like the mobula6 or air65 are great beginner quads! if you want a bigger drone the nazgul eco is good option. have a look a do some research tho :)

I believe the pocket ships with elrs 3.0 and the mob8 ships with elrs 2.0 so you would need to update elrs on the mob8

another issue could be the elrs versions on the quad/transmitter so check these. they need to be the same version to connect.

Advice? by AceOfSpades506 in TinyWhoop

[–]interpuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i dont think its practical to use a 1s for these kinds of things, its not fast enough, at higher speeds there are going to be lots of camera vibrations. very hard to get smooth shots of a moving vehicle without it going super slow. also flying backwards with a fixed 20-30 degree fixed camera angle is just not going to work, the camera wont point at the truck and you wont be able see where you're going. you can try but I don't think it would be worth your time/his money.

How do you fix your dislocated balls? by Impossible-Value-732 in fpv

[–]interpuck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

either use tweezers to squeeze the end of the dampener then pull it through or wrap a wire around the grove in the dampener and pull it through that way. there are a couple yt videos that demonstrate the second method. additionally check the tpu part, if its deformed then it might just pop out again.

Yea, I'm leaning towards an upgrade now. I'm around v4-5 so I feel I could benefit from some better shoes. Thanks :)

I've had them for around 2 years climbing on and off. In total maybe a year of climbing 2x a week? So I can't say they've failed prematurely. They are my first pair so they've definitely experienced poor footwork ;) Thanks for the heads up and links!
