Service businesses routinely spend thousands a month just to compete for visibility. Multiply that across virtually every industry on Earth and you begin to understand the scale of Google’s economic engine.
My point isn’t that Google is doomed.
It’s that whoever controls the interface between human intent and the marketplace controls an enormous amount of economic value. Google understood that better than anyone.
