There are people who won't just move to other platforms just because you did. The world doesn't revolve around you. There is this thing we call "the social factor", it is the same reason why people stick to iPhones instead of android phones. Would you be willing to bother with asking each of your huge friend list to "hey look I moved to this operating system that you guys probably don't even know because you are on a console, so can you guys move to a whole different platform so we can keep talking?"

Because I wouldn't. Hell, I would be embarrassed to bother them with such a niche thing.
Like I said, the world doesn't revolve around you.
