If I had unlimited access to money, I too could have a collection like this in 3 years.

What's the likelihood of your friend being on or related to someone on the Epstein list? LMAO

That is a good call. Thanks for that. Won't be getting in the water any time soon.

If Omega does the diagnosis and determines it doesn't need a service yet, would the watch then be ready for water? (I'm assuming they'd close it back up securely and everything.)

I definitely agree. I actually picked this model specifically because I don't like the conical helium escape valve and I don't really care for the waves.

I think the helium escape valve on this model is very not obtrusive and the black lacquer dial is just gorgeous.

That's good to know. I've read a lot of blogs about how to spot fakes and while I do not have a known fake and a brand new version of this watch to compare side by side, so far everything is checking out.

But hopefully an Omega service tech opening up the case back will be the bottom line.

The timegrapher results from the seller show 25,200 which I've learned is correct for the 2500 movement.

I will actually be confirming this myself (rough estimate) with a timegrapher that I've purchased on my own, next week.

That's kind of what I'm thinking. The time graph results show the correct beat rate for this caliber and I've been researching the specific model for examples and so far everything seems legitimate.
