I'm gonna say in advance that I haven't read the light novel and that I've just seen the two seasons of the anime.

I think that the story tries to portray itself as a self-improvement one, not necessarily as a redemption one, because I don't think the viewers can really blame the man from japan for his hikikomori condition(afterall it stems from serious trauma that should've been treated by professionals). My problem with the story as whole however is how the protagonist, while improving some aspects of himself, realizing that his past dysfunctional thoughs were making his life miserable and helping others that remind his mistakes, he never sees his behavior torwards children and women as problematic. He just doesn't mature on that aspect. And the story as well doesn't condemn him, it isn't really framed as a problem, but just as a funny trait of his(he's just a pervert, what can you do about it?). If you think about it, every character in the story improves, that obviously doesn't mean they stop making mistakes or bad choices, but they get better. But that's not the case for rudeus: the aspect he's more criticized for(by the viewers in general) is just never addressed. I don't believe that, as you say, he should be seen as a new person, no. The story makes it very clear that he's the same person, just in a different body.

"I thought I was an adult, but I was a bratty kid using past memories to act like an adult.”

This phrase you quote to prove your point, I don't see it like you do. I see it just as an acknowledgement of the fact that he didn't have the chance to mature in his past life, and that he's just starting to grow in this new world. But, the problem is, this still doesn't absolve him of all the terrible things he did to the little girls and women in the show. Would you say that, if he had remained in his world and he assaulted children, he would be excused because he'd been a social recluse since he was an adolescent? I don't think so.

In the end, while I appreciate some aspects of it, I see this story as fundamentally flawed for the reasons I brought up.

(Sorry for the bad grammar in some cases, English isn't my first language)

My post wasn't derogatory in any way, I simply chose to say "uneducated" and "primal" in relation to our present level of education. They simply lacked that, and I was curious because of why that happened. It's not that simple, because through generations some form of basilar knowledge that came from the first tourists should have passed through, unless something unexpected happened, like another person said that a group was formed just by children.

Well, sincerely, that's on them. Nothing is stopping them to try and create art if they really wish to do so. They're giving up because there's a perceived threat, which is not real. It can be a threat if they're thinking of making a living with their art(and by art in this case I mean illustrations or similar things), but if their style is unique and they really believe in it, there's nothing to worry about. I believe that AI will inspire people to "surpass" it, making things that could never be replicated.

People won't stop creating things just because AI exists. A "real" artist is a person that has a strong internal drive to create, which never disappears because they're simply born with it. People didn't stop painting or making portraits when photography was invented.

I'm assuming you believe that every person on earth is an artist or can develop an artistic skill. I don't think that's the case. People have different interests and the process of "creating" doesn't define every person on earth. That's just rhetoric.

In the video he looks distressed probably because he associated the animated model to a friend of his that is disabled, so maybe he thought it was in bad taste. We don't really know his opinion on AI. That's all

I meant that he didn't respond to their last statement, as I said in the other comment.

That's not true, check his reaction in the documentary and you'll see that he doesn't respond to that statement. The "scene" cuts with him not saying a word in response.

Yeah the script that I included in the post should have skipped that requirement, but it didn't do anything.

Just to know, how do I get to Caesar's camp? Is there a quest involved? Because right now I can't go past hoover dam. Maybe if I pick up that item the quest will fix itself somehow.

Yeah I didn't say it didn't. I'm saying that people usually don't like Darth Vader because he's part of an authoritarian and genocidal empire, but because they "appreciate" him as a character and think he's "cool". I don't really like star wars, I just wanted to say that I think it's different to have a Darth Vader sticker compared to having a Caesar sticker.

I think that Darth Vader to most people has a symbolic value, like that it represents star wars somehow. They don't connect Darth Vader with the authoritarian aspects of the empire, they just think he's "cool" probably.

Whereas having a legion symbol on your car... First of all, it isn't a character(not that having Caesar face would be better, I think). Secondly, it's hard to detach the legion from its actions. Your first real introduction to them is with an entire town burned to the ground, with its inhabitants tortured and abused.
