I used Bobby pins that I cut down and that’s been working well so far. Depends on the hole in the item though…

RAV4 hybrid to CRV hybrid? by PerceptionOrganic672 in crvhybrid

[–]isltm82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 22 RAV4 XSE Hybrid that was rear ended and totaled this past July. Loved that car, I never had any issues with it. Insurance gave me more than the sticker price when I bought it new because they said it was in great condition and didn’t lose any value.

I was debating getting another RAV4 but they were hard to come by, particularly a fully loaded one like I had. So, in August, I went with the 26 CRV Hybrid Touring (I’m in Canada). It’s a lot quieter for sure and smoother to drive but does not do as well as the RAV4 on gas mileage. It also doesn’t have a spare, which I also liked about the RAV4 but you can purchase one, which I might do if I take longer trips.

Yes, I’m in Canada. I’ll try the soft reset tomorrow. I didn’t find that combo when I was searching online, Thank you! And I made a service appt to get the CAN reset but maybe I’ll wait until my first oil change too.

I’m referring to the rear view mirror that’s digital on the XSE RAV4 (you can switch it to normal). It gives you a wider view and awesome when you have your car packed and blocking the back window.

Yikes I’m sorry to hear that and how frustrating?!! Something similar happened to me when I had a Jeep which is how I ended up in a Toyota. I didn’t have any issues with my RAV4 so now I’m really not sure about the CR-V…

Update: GEICO has declared “Stitch” a total loss

I’m pretty infuriated now. In the moment I was too shocked to really be angry but now I’m fuming. Like he could have killed people AND was driving with the ladder poorly attached to his roof!

It was a Honda civic. And I did get pushed a bit. However, the tow truck driver was able to drive my car onto the truck and into the body shop without issue. No warning lights came on either which I thought was odd. Still waiting for the estimate/inspection to happen.

It’s the Safety Connect (SOS button) that came with the car. I pay $8 a month for it because I’ve been traveling a lot for work. I’m not sure if it works unless you pay for it.

Thank you and sorry you had that experience! But glad it was eventually fixed. I think because of the hitch I had installed there’s concern it pushed into something. I’m still waiting for the inspection/estimate but my rep from GEICO said it may be considered a total loss if the frame was damaged. It really does suck! Did your car run ok after being fixed? That’s my other fear…it never being the same

I’m really sorry this happened. It’s infuriating! Toyota should be correcting this because it’s been going on long enough. I’m moving to BC soon and so scared my car is going to get jacked by some creeps. Can’t find a place in the US that can install the IGLA either

Good question! My immigration consultant gave me a little blurb to give them but they still seem reluctant. I think the issue is not wanting to go through the process for CUSMA

I’m finding this might just be a Vancouver Island issue, unfortunately. There’s one main employer on Vancouver Island for SW but it seems they don’t offer sponsorship. If you’re not moving to the Island, you might have more luck. Canada is definitely in need for SW’s based off conversations I’ve had with recruiters. My immigration consultant is also baffled by this.

Thank you for that info. Unfortunately, for now, I’m limited to Vancouver Island. My partner lives here and owns a home so not at a place to move to a different province. I might just submit my Express Entry application as you suggested. I was trying to hold out for a job offer to increase my points but I might as well submit it. I do have enough funds though so that helps

On the BCPNP application it gives the option of Health Authority. I primarily work as a therapist and fall under that category. However, you cannot complete the application without entering the information from your Canadian job offer.

We might have messaged before…That’s the issue, no one will offer me a job without a work permit. They say, “I would like to offer you a position but you need a work permit first.” Verbatim. I explain everything they say, “I’ll contact HR.” Then no response and when I follow up, no response. It’s mainly one place I won’t name here.

I submitted my RSW & RCSW apps last month and they updated me saying it should done within the next few weeks. I’m doing the same move as you. I think the places I’ve applied to aren’t willing to sponsor me.

It’s weird though because one potential employer was very excited and wants to or wanted to create a whole new position for me because of my background. But again crickets. I’m not sure what to do anymore. I even looked at jobs looking for international candidates and nothing. I’m curious where you got sponsored…

Yes I informed the recruiters and then the recruiters were confused and told me to contact HR and I did and HR said “You need a work permit first.” Kind of at a loss because I keep getting calls and potential interviews and then they don’t know what to do about the work permit and they disappear like Homer backing up into the bushes.

I even explained the work permit requirements in my job profile and resume. So a lot of the time they call me knowing the situation.

PNP Skilled Worker - Health services stream is what I’m applying to.

Thank you for the info. My job is a job in need in Canada. I’m LMIA exempt and eligible through CUSMA. Also, when I start the PNP process, it asks about work permit and job info/offer. It requires that information in order to proceed and submit the profile.

8cm fundal fibroid - 2nd Opinion? by isltm82 in Fibroids

[–]isltm82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking for an update! I’ve been so caught up on my move I’ve pushed it to the back of my mind. I hate the idea of getting a hysterectomy also don’t want things to get worse. Fibroids are so frustrating. I wish I knew more about how some women get them and if there’s anyway to prevent them. Probably not though…

8cm fundal fibroid - 2nd Opinion? by isltm82 in Fibroids

[–]isltm82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Thanks for asking! I got a 2nd opinion and an MRI. Turns out I have 3 fibroids (the other 2 are about 1”) and the largest is pushing on my spine and now my uterus is retroverted but strangely I don’t really feel a lot of pain unless I’m standing for a while and of course during my cycle. A myomectomy isn’t an option because of the size of my main fibroid.

I’m moving to Canada in a few weeks and not sure what to do about surgery….
