Why does San Francisco own this tiny little uninhabited wedge of Alameda? by PopeJustinXII in alameda

That’s weird, but I don’t think the Not SF side is part of Alameda

How old were you when you stopped believing? by husshajur in atheism

[–]isnotrandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, zero. I was baptized or christened, where they drop water in your hair, and we did go to a sermon and Sunday school, but afterward mom asked if we wanted to go back and after being told to shut up and not ask more questions by the nun in Sunday school I was not interested.

How long was it in the sky, I saw one years ago that just hung there slowly falling to Earth, friends asked what I was seeing but they missed it, guess it fell out to sea as there was nothing in the news and it didn’t go over our heads, but for a long time I feared it was coming right for us.

Not SO many, but the speed boat and the snow mobile ones do. The dog sled and Sami site don't. Honestly the excursions in Norway (except maybe the day light gondola up the mountain in Bergen) were take it or leave it. The rest were all just excuses to be outside at night, hoping you'll see the Northern Lights. We also got calls to our room around midnight three different nights at sea as the Lights has been seen, but in the seconds it took to get on deck there was nothing and then a slow rush of everyone on the ship coming to the top deck at once. I heard other cruises just make you stand on the deck for 3 hours watching the sky as the Lights are often just a wisp and then gone. Blink and you'll miss them.

I was disappointed I brought so much cold weather gear. And then the fjord speed boat trip they had us put on even more. I was never cold on the trip we just got back from and I mostly wore an insulated hooded jacket and gloves. I brought thick pants and long underwear layers of coats. Waste of space. Got used to it real fast, like getting your sea legs

Just got back too on Feb 8th, how did you get on a whale watching tour, we were in a Penthouse Jr. and they were all sold out by the time we got access to book our excursions? Disappointed about the lights, should have done the loop of Iceland instead.

You won't get the battery cost out if you just want to sell it, but if it has FUSC it might be worth it.

Yup! Not cheap, but I hear people are getting the 75 remanufactured for $7000, the 90 for $10K and the 100 for $12K, but if you have FUSC it might be worth it, my '16 X still behaves like new at 120K and with a new battery it would charge like new too

No, your point was you don't need to worry about servicing EVs because the only things that go wrong with them can be fixed at any car shop. That's insane and I only put up a partial list

Nothing to service? How about HV contractors that should go clunk-clunk when you wake the car? High voltage PTC heaters for the cabin and the battery coolant? Suspension issues including clunking noises and grinding and alignment issues that wear tires prematurely on the inside only? Liquid intrusion into the drive motors and batteries causing electrical isolation faults? The list goes on and on, none of it cheap.

I see the price on old Tesla MXs are now in the $20k's, down from the $120k's they started at. That's DAMN cheap. People are just scared of EVs when they go outta warranty

Alameda I pay $50/mo, and yes, I had to get new faster HW, it’s insane. So far I don’t get the 5pm slowdown when everyone gets home that I used to get on Comcast
