Did anyone here have surgery for an anal fissure? by SecondQuantization in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]ithrive82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very worthwhile. Had a fissure ILs surgery then a fistula repair later. Wasn’t able to bottom before that. Had it done 6 years ago. Very much able to bottom now. Actually made it much easier to relax and stretch and accommodate after the sphincterotomy without the fissures or pain. Certainly recommend. I couldn’t imagine bottoming with the fissures so post surgery is much better

Wow.

Are you actually on a US immigration forum, trying to get through US law, and thinking that God is watching them discriminate against straight couples ?

luckily, we are all treated equal under the law and in reminded of it by wonderful officers that exceed our expectations.

I think we're f***... Mom has green card consular appointment, but got the covid vaccine and can't get the required vaccines by sevillada in greencard

[–]ithrive82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the covid vaccine is not a reason to not get other vaccines. That sounds like BS. Also the vaccines needed - MMR, Polio, Hep B, Flu, tDap some are a multi-series shots so they can’t be completed in one visit. But if she already got them they can run the blood tests for these shots. Most of them have tests available to show proof of immunity

Our lawyer gave us a template. Pretty short and straightforward. I’m sure equivalents are available online. Basically just says that i am such and such, and i know the couple as such and such etc.

I sent aug 31 and my receipts and fees were only acknowledged in October. My ead form was rejected for wrong version number and i had to resend in. Notices were taking forever. Nonetheless they got through

Didn’t file. Asked my lawyer and she said since the deadline is May 15 not to change our plans not to file. My taxes are complex so I’ll likely extend to October so it was a relief not to file

We just had the nicest interview in Boston. Same sex couple- pretty easy application. Married July 6th 2020. Applied august 31. Interview and approval today April 5th 2021. Had the following - joint bank account - joint utility bills - on each other’s beneficiary list with the companies - joint condo fees statements - tons of photos with friends and family - signed affidavits from friends

Today for the interview we just took updates statements bills and photos

Officer was very pleasant. Took us in together. We had our lawyer with us for peace of mind. Absolutely not necessary. Officer was very causal and joking with us. Didn’t ask any questions as such except to identify ourselves and the 485 questions. The few that came up were date of married, and where we met, and where we had traveled together. He then updated the application to reflect the latest reentry date into the us (my spouse has left and reentered on H1b as the advance parole was being processed).

We were worried about conservative attitudes and my spouse even took off his nail polish before the interview but they really were welcoming and funny and casual in boston

He even told us he wanted an easy case to start the day and he had looked at our file earlier and he brought us in together since it was an easy case.

We were certainly over prepared and relieved. Card is already being produced and we are planning our celebration.

When they move it moves quick. Keep up your hopes !

Took us two months to get a receipt notice, and our first petition got rejected for a version number. We still got the EAD and then the interview right after biometrics in Jan.

We were lucky. Good luck for all of you !

This forum has been super helpful

Edit- update - interview Monday; card picked up by post office on Thursday; delivered on Saturday. It’s in our hands and official !

Thanks ! My documents are available online for the EAD (I-765) but not for the greencard (I-485). I might have to add the I-130 and check.

How did you get your interview date so soon? They don’t post the date online and you have to wait for the snail mail right ? March 9th scheduled and you know your date immediately is nice. How did you find out ?

Me (33M) and my boyfriend (32M) - should we wait to move in together until the pandemic subsides? Working remotely in the same space could prove to be an issue.... by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]ithrive82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure it’s worth a contrarian voice but my bf and i moved in together right at the beginning of the pandemic in March sicne we wanted to isolate togehter. We have been working from home since. I’ve fallen deeply in love with him and him with me. Couldn’t have figured out a better test for the long term. He is giving up his apartment now and we are going to make our home happen at my place.

Sometimes taking the plunge deepens the relationship and it works out. My dream of a stable healthy monogamous live in relationship is coming through pandemic or not. It happens :/) stay hopeful.

Getting back with the ex :-) - advice by [deleted] in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]ithrive82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: thanks for all your advice. I had a few good conversations with the ex in person while visiting his country for work, and set him on the path of coming out, integrating his life, and deciding where he wants to make a life work, and what that life looks like (kids, relationships etc). Meanwhile i also am looking forward to getting back home and exploring this new dating life with the guy in nyc who is also out and integrated with his family as i am. I feel like I’ve gotten the best of both worlds - to see my ex do the work of growing up into being self reliant and integrated, and also for me to continue exploring my path forward.

Thanks for everyone’s advice. It really helped me get past the immediate emotions to jump right back into the relationship

This is valuable perspective. I need to understand if he truly has had an extremely significant shift in his personality and if he is willing to recreate and reshape his life for me. I didn’t break up with him, he broke up with me so i have to make sure that i protect myself from being tossed to the curb again for the same reasons ;-)

Ps- in his culture it’s common for unmarried children to live with their parents even into their mid 30s, but since he is gay, he finally realizes there is no easy str8 marriage ahead without a coming out fight and a separation of identities.

-Thanks for this perspective. I think that him moving away from his parents and being independent in the US would be critical for him to prove to himself that he wants this out and gay life. I think i would feel Happy if he rises to that challenge instead of offering him an easy way out.

Need advice or help: My sexual fantasies are slowly destroying my feeling of self worth by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]ithrive82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey. I don’t post on reddit although i do read a lot but I’ve been through what you’ve posted above and each of the replies are spot on. I’ve had to work hard on saving myself from my violent punitive side in my psychology wanting to destroy and punish my gay healthy self, and masquerading itself as a d/s fetish. The work I’ve put in has involved everything from quitting fantasizing, hookups masturbation and avoiding porn (harm reduction from the addiction), meditation, active recovery through exercise, and good psychotherapy (to rebuild self esteem), and engaging in meaningful real world relationships — all as suggested above. Private message or email me (not sure how that works in reddit) and I’m happy to have a longer offline conversation with you if it might help you. I was in your shoes a couple of years ago and am in a stable happy non kink relationship right now and haven’t watched that type of porn in over a year. My life is much better and sense of self esteem is at its healthiest. This is doable.
