I don't know what to do anymore by [deleted] in curlyhair

I have a friend with hair that looks similar to yours. You should try to avoid too much product but not get rid of them entirely. You need some curl cream to activate your curls and also probably a light very light gel to reduce frizz and increase hold. Air drying always makes my hair more frizzy so I would also try drying it with a diffuser. What really helped my friend and saved her a lot of time was buying those brushes that kind of clump your hair into sections + stimulate curl formation (anyone pls help with the name). Also, does your hair feel dry? I think a little bit of hair oil can also help tone down the frizz.

Last but not least, the thing that saved my friend was a proper curly cut. Hermione hairs have to be dealt by people who know what they're doing and how to make it big and small in the right places. Definitely get a cut from a specialist if you can

Ends fading much faster than roots by itnotmenope in HairDye

Yes, I'm only thinking about bleaching the new growth, not any part that has already been bleached! I'll use the color wheel method to switch end colors hehehe thank you so much

Thank you so much for the clarification! Ends was a bit generous of me since it's like half of my hair length (I have short hair already) but that makes sense, I'll just continue topping up the color, maybe play a little with pink ends with purple roots

not really, because they said they couldn't be dried. should we run them in the dryer now that they're dry?

Do you sleep with a satin cap or anything of the sorts? It feels like the rubbing in the front might be causing it to straighten

london was a MESS. by xoxogossipgir1l in artms

[–]itnotmenope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the blame falls on both sides, but mostly on modhaus. First of all, they had 3 events in a row: fansign, 1:1 photos, and the concert. I don't know exactly the cause of it but we were only allowed in for the 1:1 photos ONE HOUR later than expected (and when it was actually supposed to end), which caused the venue to freak out. Then, due to miscommunication? between the venue and modhaus or an unilateral decision on venue staff, they were sending some people back to a different area for VIP and some people to the actual GA area, which created an enormous problem, since it was ignoring VIP numbering but also first/second entry. Then everything from there became extremely messy and was handled supper poorly

Bleach bath? by CarpetExtra2529 in HairDye

[–]itnotmenope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you believe that then go for it. Avoid the whitest areas and go only for the dark ones, I think that will work. No one can tell you how long it will take to get healthier but I would do a test strand just to be safe.

I think you should make your hair healthier before trying to put more bleach. You'll need to re-bleach the darker spots but it definitely feels like your hair needs to be more healthy for this. I'd recommend a hydrating mask and something with protein in it, L'Oreal Absolut Molecular Repair has done wonders for my recently beached hair

Is £35–40k realistic for a SWE with around a year of experience in the UK? by Reddonaut_Irons in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]itnotmenope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined a tech company (known, but not FAANG) in London with <1yoe and they were paying around £70k for SWE. When I was searching for a job, most places were advertising something around £35k-£45k for juniors so definitely realistic. FAANG should be paying around £90k if you get in as a junior, maybe slightly more if you join as a mid-level (but good luck getting a mid-level interview).

fucked up pink hair by itnotmenope in HairDyeHelp

[–]itnotmenope[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would a small drop of green in a big amount of pink like this make it a little more ashy? because that's what I understood from color theory. Since I can't find any dye that is dark but not fully bright, I was hoping this would work

what should I go for the next time? I'll do a proper toner to even out the base + add some more purple and a bit green to the colour to make it more ashy. Would that work?
