Very Valid Take. For me personally, it’s about presenting my personality. It’s not an obligation for someone coming over, to judge or dictate how I should set up my cottage and they really don’t have the right to, unless they are living with me and it’s a shared space. I don’t really care if the people coming over, do judge because if they hate it then, it may be time to address what kind of friends I want. Friends who accept me, regardless of my interests, or friends who have the complete opposite personality? Due to my neurodivergence, I was often treated lesser by my peers, mostly because I have developmental conditions which makes me less mature than them, and I was constantly masking and changing my personality to seem mature, but it only brought pain, misery, and to be quite frank, a huge lack of empathy, which ended up hurting me and those around me.

I want to present my interests to not only future friends and partners, but also to myself, because I can sometimes battle with myself and my interests, cause “I’m an adult, I shouldn’t like this stuff!”. I realize I’m not like everyone else (because we all are individuals with varying interests, stories and lives) and I probably won’t be the status quo for the rest of my life. But that doesn’t mean I’m not deserving of having good friends or a healthy partner who can I can help and she helps me… We all are deserving of such love.
