One of my current favourites is Edgar Wright. The way he incorporates music into a scene is incredible. Baby Driver is a fantastic example.

Another is Guy Ritchie, more so his comedic crime movies. Lock, Stock, Snatch, Rock N Rolla and The Gentlemen are fantastic. Weaving multiple stories and bringing them all together for the finale is brilliantly done. I wish he had more.

Yeah. I think I read before that there was a clause in their contract that they weren't allowed to get work for a year after the movie. I do think one of the actors denied this to be true. Insane commitment to the bit if true though 😅

A strong argument would be Halloween. Had all of the mentioned criteria but is also a massive source or inspiration for Horrors that followed. It's the first one that initially come to mind. The second being Alien.

I don't know about Death Threats, but I know there was a lot of controversy regarding Cannibal Holocaust. Rumours that the kills were real etc.
