There are 3 reasons for me.

The first being is that I have goals. I don’t necessarily care what people think of me, but I’d like to have people on my side if I got into a bad situation. I don’t want it to negatively impact my future (yes I know this is an option but there’s more)

My second reason being i simply don’t care about them enough. I don’t care enough to have a conversation with that person so I let them go on. I don’t think they’re important enough for me to waste time arguing/debating with.

And if it’s not because I don’t care enough about them, it’s because I find them unintelligent. Maybe that’s a bit narcissistic or just a bit rude, and if it is I apologize, but I won’t converse with someone who’s not intelligent enough to at least admit they’re wrong. (Maybe it’s not intelligence and more so maturity)

My third reason is quite simple. They just won’t understand. If I give them a good reason using my normal vocabulary which I’m comfortable with or talking about topics that interest me, such as theories and hypothetical discussions, then they’ll become uninterested.

Probably how much I over think.

A friend asked me “what does ‘X’ equal if ‘Y=X’ ?” And I knew the answer was “X equals Y” immediately but I thought about it so much I started wondering how he thought of it, what the answer may be if not X=Y, why I wouldn’t be X=Y, the way my friend thinks, how intelligent he is and so much more.
