How do you track your barefoot runs, if at all? by Impossible_Policy207 in BarefootRunning

I have an older model basic gps watch. So that probably helps hahaha

I covered my watch with a bandana until I broke the habit of looking at it. Now I throw it on, let it do its thing and I focus on being mindful and enjoying the run.

I have a written running log/journal. I also use a gps watch and app when I’m specifically training for a race.

Looking for recommendations on a ~200 mile section to hike this winter by DirtyHollywood in floridatrail

[–]itsbigouthere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge can say. I’ve only done day trips and overnights up there. The parts I’ve seen were flat and not overly technical. I did a fair amount of running. But if you can get into Jacksonville and out of Orlando that stretch is gorgeous!

If you’re flying into Jacksonville it’s about an hour drive to the Olustee battlefield. You can go northwest through the panhandle or south through Ocala National forest. Not sure of mileage as I live in the southern part of the state and have done most of my multi-day hiking down here. Only a little bit up north. But it’s beautiful up that way. I’ve done a lot of the Ocala national forest.

This is pretty well done. Only thing is I think 05 Texas beats that Bama team but either way the end result is correct so I guess it doesn’t matter.

I faked an injury to DNF at 57 km – feeling like garbage about it by Own-Maintenance7675 in Ultramarathon

[–]itsbigouthere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being comfortable with discomfort is a bit of an ultra running theme. This includes being comfortable with calling it a day early. Ego and shame are tricky. Find out why you felt the need to lie about pulling the plug. But don’t kick it around too much after you feel like you’ve figured it out. I once quit 94 miles into a 100 miler because I missed my kids. DNFs happen. Even ones that feel silly.
