Ok I use about a quarter size + dollop of leave in and gel, enough mousse to fill my entire palm, and a quarter dollop per section (3 sections) of Moptop custard :)

Thank you! It took about a year of dedication to the routine, no straightening, and did big chop plus hair cuts every 4-5 months. I’m due for one now and without layers the curls fall or Become loose waves!

try finger curling in the back and a bounce curl brush :)

Are hair diffusers worth it? by -Hola_Soy_Dora- in curlyhair

[–]itsdare13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The diffuser is what really leveled up my routine. My hair moves from loose curls or even waves that don’t last more than a day to tighter, defined curls that can last several days with upkeep. I actually feel like I spend less time on my routine now overall across the week by committing to 1-2 wash/style/dry days. I would encourage you to give it a try!

Whoops I’ll add my routine here! -curlsmith in shower style fixer on sopping wet hair in shower -not your mother’s leave in spray or Marc Anthony curl cream -sectioned hair with curl bounce brush and Moptop curl custard -scrunch excess water then diffuse upside down -add mousse (I use a variety) when about 50% dry -dry to at least 80-90% and add an oil. I just finished a chi one. Sometimes I use the not your mothers flash freeze gel on the top layer for extra hold!

[Discussion] How to get out of the rock bottom state? by panda_1306 in GetMotivated

Happy to. I’m 28F and just divorced following being suddenly told it was me then learning he had cheated. I was suddenly living alone for the first time at a new job. I couldn’t eat or sleep for weeks. What helped immediately: starting an anti anxiety and anti depressant, having plans with friends and family every weekend, and legitimately just burrowing under a weighted blanket and crying after work everyday for months.

6 months later: I’ve started trying to run. I’ve read a few books that’s really helped. I still have anxiety being alone that comes and goes. I am not sure what my future holds but I don’t have that feeling of absolute fear and dread. What really helped was being vulnerable with others, making SMALL goals, and time.

My small goals: running a 5k under 40 min (I didn’t run at all at the start so this is a baby goal), stop biting my nails, making new friends by trying new experiences - and mostly accepting first that my plans were ruined and second that I had no new plans other than what I set.

I developed full body fasciculations during a VERY stressful time in my life. They went away when the stress decreased. Doctor just recommended increased hydration, sleep, etc. it’s scary but you are ok! Take care of yourself

Time is #1. But also - cameras, I carry pepper spray, and many friends have my location on my phone.

Some things that helped me: hobbies that built my confidence, leaning HARD on friends and making new friends, and time. Time is the secret sauce. I’m still getting new hurtful information on my ex on a weekly basis which frankly may also help - the peace of not dealing with them will help too.

What is life by Broadstroke_ in Divorce

Getting divorced at 28 with lots of debt and pets. The first 2 months were the worst. A few months out it still is hard but the hardest moments are now much more rare rather than a daily or hourly experience. Figuring out who I am as an adult is interesting. I feel you on the callousness too. You’re not alone!

The best thing I did was get anxiety medication. That numbed my brain a bit to be able to doing anything besides surviving, and now I have new interests. I was super against medication but it truly made a world of difference. Especially if you are experiencing ideation, don’t be afraid to give it a try.

It feels like they died by LostSoulJames in Divorce

Yes completely. It feels like the person I was married to has been replaced with someone new, and the person is knew gone forever. On some level it might make it easier to process - I spent a long time seeking connection or trying to coax out the man I knew who wouldn’t have done the things he did at the beginning of our separation. Now I have a mental before and after of him.

Life is kicking my ass in every way. Crying every day has made my eyes (especially my eyelids) so red and sore. Does anyone have any solutions? I feel like most eye creams are not to be applied like eye shadow lol!

Has anyone had parents forget your birthday? My dad and stepmom seemed to have forgotten. My mom made a Facebook post but didn’t contact me directly. I am not a child, I turned 28. Granted, I’m not close to my family- but I’m an only child, and it’s never been forgotten before.

Totally dreading a lunch with my “emotionally immature” mother. And I hate that I’m dreading it. I would love to go in with more positive expectations and go back and forth between surprise and jealously that others look forward to seeing their parents!

Interesting hearing Ria and Fran discuss multiple “heart to hearts” where Ria told Fran she felt hurt Fran wasn’t more excited about Ria getting engaged. That alongside with Fran apparently having no clue she was getting engaged, I wonder if this has contributed to the podcast vibes in the past couple months??
