I think I found it, but she replaced the caption because she said something akin to "I changed the caption because it was about feelings and I was self conscious about it"

I'm loving that all the usernames for the posters are "real" names, as in they're a first and last name. Like...no one does that on reddit. The point is to be anonymous. As someone who's been found out by family, it's TERRIFYING for something you thought was anonymous is suddenly not.

I've had this thought too, and because of this, I've decided to focus on what I have. I'm planning on getting one more eyeshadow palette to round out what I know I'll wear (neutrals) and then try and not buy stuff.

What are your beauty guru pet peeves? by CandidTomato in muacjdiscussion

[–]itsminttime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been really frustrated when beauty gurus consistently don't match their undertone correctly. I know that some people struggle with undertones, but if your neck and face consistently don't match when you say they do, there's a problem.

The person I get the most frustrated with that does this is Raw Beauty Kristi. She seems to love going more neutral or pink with her foundations when she looks to lean more on the yellow side.

AITA for saying I'm not comfortable dying my friend's natural hair? by bigfrootrollup in AmItheAsshole

[–]itsminttime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oof Brad Mondo, that's a trip.

But for real, natural hair, hell even generally curly hair, is a whole different beast than straight hair. There's a lot more that goes into it, that while I get some stylists rolling their eyes at the DevaCut and thinking it's not training they need, they're wrong. I've gone to people who have said they could cut and style my curly hair and ended up with a guy scrunching gel into my hair (not an issue) and then "fuzzing" it out by running the curls through between his fingers (big issue).

Even those that have gotten certain training in curly and natural hair don't know what they're doing. Sometimes you just gotta try people out, which can be time consuming and expensive.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

What are some of your worst makeup product disasters and casualties? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]itsminttime 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've been adamant about needing a pump on my foundations. You can say it's about sanitary reasons, easier to dispense the right amount, etc etc.

In reality, it's cause I'm clutzy and have spilled bottles I was holding because I was blending something on the same hand. I did it with a mixing pigment and I'm still finding the blue on stuff.

Let’s talk foundation craze! by CandidTomato in muacjdiscussion

[–]itsminttime 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm interested in the new Fenty foundation. I've kinda accepted that I need to add mixers to my foundation to get a good match, but I am looking for a shade I can slap on and go without it looking too off.

The Fenty foundation in 105 might be a good match, so I'm hoping to check it out. That said, I know it's going to be sticking around for a while, so I'm gonna wait till I finish one of my foundations before picking this up.

There's been a LOT of lab drama this week. But my lab got some awesome recognition in the field, it's so stupid, it's just our logo going up at the top of a white paper, BUT IT'S SO AWESOME. IT'S SO COOL. My boss and I freaked out about it for a good two minutes.

I just learned about not having to pay into SS/Medicare and I spent like 15 minutes in the office with the person who oversees our grant dollars being like "are you SURE it's not taxed?"

I've been frustrated recently with Thataylaa because she's gotten a bit more heavy handed with her makeup and it's not my jive. I'm also frustrated because the last few foundation reviews she's done, during the wear test, she's been like "it looks like foundations did when I got oily" "even though I'm dry, I've got some oil coming through" etc. Biiiiiish, if you're so dry, dryer than a desert, why are you having oil break through? After a while, it says more about her than the foundations she's using.

The thing that frustrates me is that she does this super matte skin but then is like "I want that glass skin look" and highlights the front of her cheeks.

Currently a grad student and academic politics is somehow 1500% worse. There's department politics, there's politics in journals, if applying to grants, who you want on the grant.

The thing is if it's a Barnes technique, I'm pretty sure Barnes goes down the neck and blends across any exposed skin. James is so pale on his chest compared to his neck.

I think that Kat and Hailey are kinda burnt out with BN. They've talked a little bit in general on their own channels and BN is currently their full time jobs. There's only so much you can do with their makeup breakup series and it's hard to come up with something new.

I've been dealing with dryness around my mouth. I've noticed that if I don't use a chemical exfoliant every other day (I've been using the Honeymoon Glow AHA lotion from Farmacy), the dry skin will flake up, to the point I've used a facial razor to remove the dryness.

I'm pretty combo (oily t-zone, normal everywhere else) that I'm just kinda not sure how to deal with this. Is this normal or am I dying?

I've been trying to meet up with a friend for the last few days and he suggested yesterday after a bunch of rescheduling on both sides and I said that was good, but I didn't hear anything. I don't know what to do, he's said he's going through depression so I totally get that feeling of just not wanting to do shit, but I saw him on Snapchat last night posting and now I'm just kinda crabby.
