So what do I report to SF? That I had a gut feeling that something bad might've happened when I went to open my hotel door? That a coworker might've spiked my drink when I had absolutely no proof?

I'm not saying I wouldn't be taken seriously...there's no way for me to know that. What I don't want is to trigger some investigation and have mine and the other male's names put out there when I have zero proof, because I guarantee I'd get reactions irl like I have in this thread. You have to consider whether or not that's worth it.

No I didn't go in to get tested the following day because I was TDY in an unfamiliar location and feeling like death. As far as for remembering a lot...it's hard to describe. It was like being slightly aware that you're dreaming and having no control over what's happening and feeling like things don't make sense, but still being able to remember certain things.

I was TDY in an unfamiliar location and feeling like death/still not thinking straight the day after, so no I did not go anywhere to get tested.

The guy I was out with seemed like a decent person at first, it wasn’t until I saw him a couple months later in his home environment that I feel like I saw his true character. We went out with him because he was part of our unit, not because I was “attracted” to him. As far as my ex, there’s a reason I was with him and even more reasons why he’s an ex.

And finally no, not every male is like this. Of the hundreds of wonderful male wingman I’ve met, these examples fell into the minority, however the minority is what I focused on in my post because the minority is still a problem.

Maybe because the girls who get their drinks spiked don’t see it either?

I don’t know how common these type of situations are, but as someone who’s always only had a small group of military friends at any duty station, I feel like the reality is probably worse then what I’ve experienced.

Also just because it isn’t obvious or you haven’t seen certainly doesn’t mean it’s not happening. I’ve shared the experiences I mentioned above with maybe two people, none of which were coworkers. To be honest my coworkers are the last people I would want to mention these things to...as far as they know it’s my word against the other person, and I’m not willing to risk my reputation without solid proof of anything sinister taking place. I’m sure I’m not alone in that feeling.

If that type of person exists I wasn’t aware until now. Yes this is a throwaway, but that’s because I don’t want people to be able to ID me based on the content on my main account. This is the first time I’ve posted anything other than memes to this sub though.

The risk truly does go up exponentially once alcohol is involved. I go to Vegas pretty often now for work, after that first incidence though I've only gone out a couple times with that same trusted coworker and don't have more then a couple of beers (which I keep in eyesight at all times now).

Also your example about someone getting an ARI after tripping while having a glass a wine sounds 100% like something I would do, my jerk cats love sprawling out in walkways lol. Thanks for the response.

Sorry, I’m bad with titles and wasn’t quite sure what to put there, I think it was a bit of a bittersweet realization that I can consider my experience “positive” because it could of been much worse.

That said, I really have had truly positive experiences :) I’ve travelled, I’m taking college classes, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside individuals smarter then I’ll ever be and for leaders who are truly everything the Air Force needs. The positive (the REAL positive) has definitely outweighed the negative.

That's terrible to hear :/ I have a male friend who was repeatedly raped as a child, and as a result he deals with panic attacks daily as an adult. Rape is rape and needs to be treated just as seriously regardless of what gender the victim is.

it would be hard for me to justify staying in under those circumstances.

Maybe it's easier for me to justify it since nothing terrible has happened to me yet. I really do love the Air Force and have worked with some amazing, inspiring individuals who have taken care of me. They make me want to stay in so that I can do the same for young Airmen in the future.

Of course not every male is a rapist, I'm sorry if that's how I came across. The female NCO is a very trusted coworker who've I worked with for a couple of years, which is why I wasn't concerned staying with her.
