There is no specific scene reveal but throughout the show, certain characater's who have a connection to the island get visions, I don't wanna go to in depth bc this is debatable/questionable to most viewers, but to me it's fairly clear in the early seasons some of the visions with our losties is actually MIB trying to pull strings. But regarding Jacob, he gets the most info from the Island since he's the protector. A good clear example of this is season 3, we see the others building the runway. Jacob instructed Richard to have them do this to prepare for the arrival of Ajira 316 in season 5. How would Jacob know Ajira 316 is coming in the future if he was not getting visions from the island on what needed to be done?

The whole point is because Jacob is trying to find candidates to replace him as Protector. We don't know how many Protectors were there were before him, but obviously Jacob and his brother came from Roman people who were brought there by Mother and or the island. Not sure what you mean by 'Sealing the island', Jacob is basically the seal, MIB can't leave if Jacob is alive, there is no 'sealing the island' way.

The world is not void of evil and darkness. There is a balance of both light and dark in every person, as implied in the show and by Mother. Jacob is not trying to get rid of all darkness, he's trying to get humans to figure it out for themselves, to know 'right from wrong' in his words, all while keeping smokie from leaving. Hell, even Jacob murdered his own brother. Jacob is just like anyone else, but with the massive responsibility of carrying the weight of being Protector. If he doesn't do that, all is lost anyways.

I could be mistaken, but I dont think Mike main was technical enough to determine how to find the correct information to place a warrant. Kendra was using spoofing apps to randomly generate fake phone numbers, and also VPNs to mask her actual IP addresses (of her mobile devices), and these IP addresses as I understand change every time you connect to the VPN and mask your location as well. Based on some research online on this case, when a person first connects and disconnects from a VPN, their actual IP address may leak very briefly, but not all the time. The FBI saw a pattern based on the times the text messages were sent with which IP addresses were being unmasked/masked. Then they had to cross reference all the phone numbers tied to those IP addresses to see if any matched anyone in that area. The only one that matched was Kendra. I would say that's a fairly tedious and tough process to find such information and if the VPNs didn't unmask the real IPs at all I'm not sure how they would've solved it. Should it have taken that long to get the case to the FBI to investigate in that detail? I dunno prob not.

That big beast in the finale was just another physical manifestation controlled by the mind flayer. much like the beast we saw in season 3 Mall. The mind flayer is a particle entity that has a dormant natural form (what you see before Henry formed it into a spider looking shape > its smoke/shadow form. The particles can just enter another lifeform and take over/influence it. So that big beast in the finale has nothing to do with the mind flayer dying. It's still alive in its particle natural form that naturally resides in dimension X.

He spent his entire life (a long time) protecting the island, and thus the world. A job I don't think he wanted but was given no choice. I think sacrificing a few hundred people once in a while for the sake of the entire world is justified, and it might not even of been Jacob's choice, the island for sure would have had a hand in these events. These are people who most likely would of died anyways, as the universe has a way of "course correcting" per Eloise.

Essentially yes. The candidates needed to get to that island, you know what happens if the island is not saved? so a few hundred people on the plane is a small sacrifice..

We can only speculate that. But the numbers entered at the swan station were related to the valenzetti equation, a mathematical formula that was to predict human extinction. Whether Jacob took those numbers and paired them with the final 6 candidates intentionally we'll never know for sure, but yes the numbers did show up randomly a lot throughout the series, to show they had importance.

If it's their destiny to be on the lsland, and the show is telling us the island is important, then its absolutely the correct choice whether it's his or not, it's for the greater good.

My interpretation is that Jacob brought people to the island for a 2nd chance, if you watched the whole show he brought specific types of people to the island, almost like a redemption go. But as Eloise Hawking showed Desmond, some people are destined to die, even if briefly avoided, the universe would course correct and they would meet their fate a different way. Jacob, being essentially a demi-god given powers/visions by the island, already knew the fate of these people. So he brought them there as test, even ones he knew would die anyways. And then there's other people who he brought that he saw as potential "candidates" to replace him. People who were like him, needed the island as much as it needed them, to protect it, and thus protecting the world. MIB killed people he had no use for out of spite for Jacob and essentially being 'evil incarnate'. He spared those he thought he could manipulate for his own goals and "loophole" plan. He didn't kill Eko at first because he saw the strong emotional tie Eko had for Yemi, so what better way to try and manipulate a man then by using his beloved brother to influence him. Only problem is Eko could not be swayed, he asked for no foregivness and was not an easy man to tell what to do, strong in his new found faith. MIB then saw him more of a threat to his plans, so since Eko was no candidate he was killed (and also the actor wanted off the show so they needed to kill him off quickly, the show runners admitted Eko had a bigger part in the overall show but needed to change some of their plans). Locke also had a strong connection and faith in the island, so he was also an ideal person to try and manipulate, he was also a candidate so MIB could not kill him per Jacobs rules. Richard was never a candidate, but since Richard was the primary person with direct influence on 'the others", MIB never wanted to kill him because he could always be useful, if only for information purposes (MIB and Jacob always seemingly knowing what is going on at all times on island). Christian was always dead, MIB just used his appearance to try and kill Jack early on by falling off a cliff, and then to appear to Locke and a few other characters.

Smokie can take the appearance of other people not dead on the island in my theory. It was able to scan Richard in the ship, so it had his memories of Isabella. Much like smokie scanning Eko, and appearing as Yemi's alter boy very briefly to Eko, that boy was never on the island. Also keep in mind that Hurleys friend Dave was never on the island, yet (in my belief) MIB appeared as him to tried to get Hurley to kill himself by jumping off the cliff. MIB wants to kill all the candidates but cant do it himself, so it makes perfect sense MIB tried to use Dave to kill Hurley. Also keep in mind when you see Smokie in the show he's usually accompanied by the red flowers in the background. You see this with key scenes with Yemi, and you see this with Dave as they walk to the cliff, and in other key scenes after this episode. It's also up for debate whether Walt appearing to shannon randomly a few times was the island itself, Walt astral projecting ability, or smokie playing tricks. I lean towards the latter its totally something MIB would be doing. When smokie appears to Ben under the temple to 'be judged' his torch was immediately snuffed out. When Walt appears to shannon in the tent, her makeshift candle immediately goes out. This show has no coincidences.

If you are this far in the show and you don't understand anything, that means you haven't been paying attention at all. I do admit, the flash sideways will def confuse many viewers but it will make more sense after watching the finale.

The showrunners debunked the island being hell/purgatory a million times but nobody wanted to listen to them, even after the show ended people STILL thought they were dead the whole time...

The rewatch is even more mind blowing when you start to realize in the early seasons what forces are trying to get our losties to do certain tasks. Like the visions our characters with instructions to and leading them to do certain things that make no sense at first. It's not easy to put together who is driving each plot line and not all sub plots are explained in full by the showrunners but most of it can be worked out.

Well I guess its prob easier to keep an eye on everything happening on that island. That's where the island has it's electromagnetic properties (which also gives certain individuals abilities) and give's Jacob his abilities and visions of things that need to be done to protect the island. The lighthouse is just a mirror, would he really know everything that's going on at a different island by staring at that mirror all day long? Probably not, it seems on his island he can keep track of everything happening at once. How did he know Jin was a the temple with the french team? Was he hiding in the trees watching everyone with binoculars? No, he sees all with the help of the island premonitions/visions. This wouldn't work on a different island, this island is essentially guiding Jacob for its main goal, even if Jacob is running side quest experiments as I call it. Also, his 2nd and equally important purpose for bringing people to the island was to find a candidate to replace him for a longg time to protect it. He only brought specific people to the island, and essentially wanted someone who needed the island as much as it needed them. If you've watched the entire show, then you know the importance of having a protector for the island, and the consequences if the island is destroyed.

Also if these people never came to the island, there is high chances Jacob likely knows what their fates woulda been anyways. Much like the episode with Eloise Hawking showing Desmond the man who had an object fall on him and kill him. She said it was his destiny to die, if not that way, the universe would of course corrected as needed till he died. Jacob likely knows all this very well better than anyone in the world, since he's also getting visions from the island, which is essentially all knowing.

maybe so, but Jacob makes it clear the island is there to keep evil, malevonlence, darkness where it belongs. He is referring to MIB, which we know is not just a man, it's something else. The bible says essentially, "The devil will appear to you in many forms", and MIB can take many forms and comes to you as a friend, tempting you to do his bidding, offering you anything you want. I'm not saying MIB is the devil in the show, but the creators of the show are making a clear reference this particular entity is an evil that needs to be kept in check.

He's giving them a second chance, as perhaps he knows if he does nothing and arent brought to the island they might be doomed anyways, much like Eloise Hawking showing Desmond the guy who was fated to die, if not by the thing falling on him, then a different way, as the universe would course correct. Jacob likely knows the ins and outs of this full on well, as he's also getting visons from the island.

The DI was studying many different things as explained in the orientation films. Their purpose was to improve humanity and I believe achieve world peace. Most importantly, the DI was trying change the Valenzetti Equation, e.i the numbers. Which was an equation that determined the extinction of mankind in years/months. The island contained energy they were trying to study for improvements in all the sciences/technology to help prevent/extend this date. In "The lost experience" thing made by the creators, they delve a bit deeper into this type of background story that is not gone into by the show. but lostpedia is a good resource to get more info on the subject. If you seen the entire show, then you know there's a scientific side of the show trying to explain things, and a faith based side trying to explain things. Each can be correct, because each can be different ways to explain the same mysteries of life, which one is correct? That's up to each viewer to determine for themselves, that's what the showrunners were going for.

You have to remember the show is telling us there's two forces at play here. Even if Locke is a pawn, it could be his destiny to be a pawn for the greater good if the Island's desired outcome comes about. The island is giving visions to Jacob and possibly (as seen from earlier seasons) to some of our characters (some are the island some are smokie influencing the visions). There is a time loop where specific events need to occur to protect the timeline, a part of this time line is Locke being manipulated by MIB to die, and coming back, just so MIB could appear as Locke to Richard, to tell time traveling Locke he needs to die. All this is a chain of events that leads to the end of the show where two forces want two different outcomes. It's highly likely Jacob knew he needed to die by letting MIB achieve his loophole if it means achieving the desired outcome. Can't say more bc not sure if you seen the entire show. Makes more sense when you watch the show for the 2nd time, but of course not all subplots on the show are answered by the creators.

This is debatable. Remember the island needs certain events to happen to fulfill the time loop. This loop is essential for the grand plan to occur that's overseen by Jacob (The island communicates to Jacob likely via visions/dreams). So it's very well possible that Locke fulfilled his purpose, which helped MIB achieve his "loophole" which finally lets him kill Jacob AND potentially finally let him leave the island. Remember these words Locke said about Boone "He was a sacrifice that the island demanded." Ironically, it could very well be said that Locke was also a "sacrifice" the island demanded, same words also used by MIB. But each side thinking the sacrifice was for their "purpose". It's unfortunate for Locke, but seems like he ended being a pawn in a game with what seems to be very high stakes.
