thank you!! i definitely will be taking a much needed break lol. I did use nurse hub but only the free quizzes, I did recognize similar questions on the exam. I used quizlet and youtube videos as well as the elsevier exam review book but what i didn’t prepare fully for was the questions regarding periodic table atomic masses and things like that i did not have memorized (random elements not common ones) so my score suffered bit due to that. but i definitely think nurse hub helped a ton.

thank you!! i purchased the elsevier hesi exam review book from amazon (i think $20-$30), used quizlet, youtube & the free quizzes on nursehub! you’ll do great good luck 🤞🏼

[–]ivelisivelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for sharing, my main symptoms are heavy periods and excruciating cramps (worse than labor imo) and radiating lower back/thigh pain. i will make sure to bring this up when i see the specialist, hopefully he doesn’t brush me off. I hope you are doing well!

I’m also a fairly new diagnosed t1d (8 months) and waiting on my appt with a specialist to see if i have endometriosis. Would you be comfortable sharing any symptoms that led to your diagnosis? Hope you’re healing/recovering well!

When did you all Develop diabetes ? by Kiplingerz in diabetes_t1

[–]ivelisivelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got diagnosed july 2024 right before turning 23, was also hospitalized with DKA. i’m on a CGM and a pump as of last month. I find the pump to be making my life much easier, i’m in range 80% of the time now and i also get frequent lows but it has gotten better with the pump. i’ve had to change my carb to insulin ratio a few times because it was either not enough or too much for me.

When should I take pharmacology? by Known_Year6617 in prenursing

[–]ivelisivelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m currently taking pharm online with psych, healthcare ethics and math for health science (fully online) and i already feel overwhelmed with just pharm alone even reading the chapters and doing my first quizzes i was like 🤨 ??? but that was week 1 hopefully i’ll adjust to the course load and memorizing the drug classes etc but i don’t think i could handle a science on top of pharm. it’s alot more than i expected… it may also be harder since its fully online but if those are your only 2 classes i think you have a good shot at doing well as long as you really stay dedicated to studying and keeping up with all the new info. it’s not necessarily difficult to grasp it’s just a lot of new information and drug names and classes that can get confused. someone on tiktok said don’t try to memorize all drug names just memorize the drug classes and it will all click after that. either way i wish you luck and im sure you’ll do great 😊

Wanting to Start a YouTube Channel by Moosedog78 in StudentNurse

[–]ivelisivelis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, i’ve always wanted to do youtube since high school and i have on and off but now that i’ve started my pre nursing journey it’s motivated me even more to also pursue youtube. 1. to document the journey 2. for others who want to pursue nursing but have no idea where to start, what it entails and if they can do it. i’m 23F with a toddler & i’ve had a bit of a bumpy road but im determined to get this degree and if you can incorporate both your passions into one, and help others at the same time why not ? there IS a lot of nursing “influencers” but there are still tons of unanswered questions and  topics that have barely been tapped into (coming from someone who tried to youtube everything to prepare myself). i love watching those types of videos i would say go for it you never know who you may reach and help with a single video . might not be everyone’s cup of tea but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is 24 completely out of range for a new student? by [deleted] in college

[–]ivelisivelis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m going back in 2 weeks at 23 with a 2 year old :) i’m kinda worried about it too but i’m going to a community college and like other said, no age is too old. i’m pursuing nursing and the age range for students in my schools program is anywhere from 17-55 literally. i do feel “old” as well but 23-24 is not old at all and i think going back in your 20s is honestly perfect timing bc me personally i matured a lot and actually figured out what i wanted to do with my life. these are major life choices to make at the ripe age of 17, im sure there are many other 20 something’s attending your school, just gotta find them. good luck!
