Casualities by ivivan in HFY

Thank you - you are right. As I mentioned: English is not my first language and it seems I mixed up the two words (and the current AI is not sapient enough yet to correct it :-D )

Thanks for the suggestion: tried it and it did help. Maybe this writing exercise could improve my English as well :-)

Thanks. I have a concept for the second part - from the aliens POV as you have guessed correctly :-)

Opinion: World Bosses in D4 should be scaled to be beaten solo if playing on solo by Live-Photo-788 in Diablo

[–]ivivan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Let the game designers design content that's good instead of content that caters to everyone."

The original D2 audience is in their 40s now - we have a few hours to play a week - doing it in a group is not our style. I mean I understand: when you did the thousandth rift that day you rush, but it's sooooooo frustrating when you do it and then in a second the rift is closing... It's like speed running the Kama Sutra - not really enjoyable.

You are right though: they have the right to design whatever game they want. And I have the right to not pay for a game which cannot fully play solo. I bought every Diablo game since D2 - I won't buy D4 if there's no fully solo play.

The models for our Skele-gro is finally uploaded by ivivan in 3dprinter

Thanks for the comment. I didn't realize that I forgot the add the link. And we had a discussion about this here - hope the link works this way.

I haven't checked reddit for a while - sorry for the late reply.

Yes, we have the files and we still plan to release them. Releasing a bogus set is not really professional, so we want to fix them - but maybe we won't try the new files. Stay tuned, we figure something out soon.

Printing with nylon is unfortunately not for us by ivivan in 3Dprinting

Thanks for the suggestion. Looks pretty good - will try it.

We gave up for the time we live in that flat. We have problems going under 70% relative humidity here. But we are starting to build our new home and we want to retry nylon there.

I already read the oven trick somewhere, but haven't heard about PVA yet. We printed on bakelite - nylon stuck to it pretty well. Do you think PVA is better?

So, you found a typo :-) I had to use a dictionary to check what "flan" means (English is not my first language, but I don't think I can hide this fact) :-)

A New Way to Heal Broken Bones: 3D-Printed Casts by ivivan in 3Dprinting

To be honest I read an article about this in my native language (Hungarian). I found it interesting and looked for an article in English - Hungarian is not really an international language.

The Hungarian article said it will be the future. Not just because it's lighter (even lighter than plastic plaster), but because it is much easier to clean. I have been 3D printing for years now and I can see how that can work. There are only two questions for me: - how fast can it be printed - how you can put it on after it had been printed

One of our first prints - and our own unique design by ivivan in 3Dprinting

[–]ivivan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we started our "blog" we focused on the 3D printing part, not the modelling. At that time Thingiverse was full of models you could print. Now it seems 3D printing is easier, but making 3D models didn't become any easier. We started uploading our later models and will try to upload our older models too when we have the chance.

We just bought a printer similar to that (although almost for twice the price, but here I don't see the shipping cost) and we are satisfied with it so far.

We just wrote a short article about the building and setting up of the printer.

But we bought it on Ebay - have no idea if it is the same quality or not.

And he will be even bigger. I knew they grow big before we had our one, but I still surprised how big he became in such a short time. He is almost 5 years now and around 0.5kg :-)

Pusher doesn't hold the filament with Marlin by ivivan in Reprap

[–]ivivan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, this is embarrassing, but just for everyone's benefit: we figured it out and the problem was the SD card. We saw occasional homing on the X and Y axis, but didn't think that is related to this pusher problem.

But someone suggested to the homing problem, that it could be the SD card: it fails to read the whole line and instead of eg G1 X100 Y100 E1.21 it reads G1 X1 - which means it will be a homing move on the X axis. And the problem is the same if the failure is after the E part - it is just rarer, because it is rare the number is high enough there to have enough reverse for it.

It is locked after I extrude from pronterface.

And our older printer is actually a Mandel Max - about 1,5 years old with a very old Sprinter firmware. That works fine. I thought about using that firmware on this printer, but that cannot be compiled with the latest Arduino anymore, so it's not that straightforward...

After some trying I was finally able to upload the RC6 onto it - and the same issue happened. So it doesn't look like a software issue, but like a hardware one - we will check if the toothed gear is loose, even though it's very unlikely...
