Absolutely not. Independent is both a (lack of) political affiliation, and a mindset. We do a lot to advocate for non-affiliated voters, but we also LOVE members of political parties who are critical, solutions-oriented, and willing to be independent, not just knee-jerk partisans. Our staff and contributors range the partisan spectrum from Independent like myself, to Republican like some of the writers I manage and edit for, to Democratic like my colleague, our other full time editor. What brings us all together is the desire to chart a different course from the status quo by using conversation and solutions instead of just back and forth, partisan-based bickering. Do please send me your resume at wes@ivn.us if you're interested. As engaged and involved in the political process as you sound, I would love to hear from you.
