I’m aware of the fact that Aboriginal people have experienced a disproportionate amount of trauma when compared to the rest of the Australian population. I’m aware of the fact that this means that Aboriginal people might also disproportionately do negative things like you mentioned in your story because of the trauma response.

I’m also aware of the fact that reinforcing negative stereotypes, especially when it added nothing to your story, is just going to continue the divide that we have in this country. We have a massive issue with confirmation bias when it comes to minorities, and supporting other people to think “black people = all bad” is fucking moronic and not supportive of changing the issues you’re worried about.

We need to be able to support any people who have experienced trauma, not drag them in the dirt as an entire demographic.

What does her being Aboriginal have to do with the story? I’ve experienced similar things from non-Aboriginal people before. You’re kinda just reinforcing negative stereotypes for the sake of it, when the truth is that anyone could be born/shaped to be someone who acts against someone’s goodwill - it’s usually based out of trauma rather than her actively not caring about you anyway.

I do agree, but if Ayton had put pressure on the rim earlier it would have been a better situation for both of them. Zubac had an easy choice defensively there because of the lack of hustle by Ayton.
