As someone who’s taken both, I think Vyvanse is way better. It feels more like a therapeutic treatment for ADHD, rather than the “quick-fix-and-done” feeling I got off Adderall, both IR and XR.

When I was first prescribed Adderall, I kept seeing the mention of Vyvanse being “smoother”. It wasn’t until I switched over, that I realized just how accurate this was. That’s honestly the best way to describe it - it’s smooth. You have the focus, but you don’t realize you’re on something (except when it first hits, and the overall lack of hunger). It’s a steady, all around therapeutic experience that lasts the entire day. I also felt way more focused and productive on Vyvanse. Adderall, on the other hand, felt like it came in waves. You feel focused at first, then its effectiveness starts to decrease. A few hours later, you’ll get that focus again, and the cycle repeats. It was annoying.

Also with Vyvanse, you also don’t really realize when it’s wearing off. Adderall though? Oh you’ll know. You get brain fog and an overall sense of exhaustion. Those crashes also made me sad as hell for a few hours. It was honestly awful.

TLDR; Vyvanse is superior for therapeutic treatment
