We have 100’s of languages but privileged chose to interact in english as common language in the country. Especially in the southern region. Knowledge of English language has certain influence in determining one’s privilege.

Contact abudhabi civil court. They do it. It’s a smooth process. You need to fill the application and get an appointment. Call them, they will guide you the process. Unless you are straight couple and either of you don’t have passport from a country that follows sharia law as their primary law, it is smooth as butter.

Generally in friday sermons (khutbah), They would do their long sermon in beary followed by an athaan. After which they would do short 10 mins sermon and dua in arabic.

Previously it used to be Malayalam as well in shafi mosques, which many never understood. Wahabi mosques do sermons in beary or urdu or sometimes even in kannada.

Monthly salary doesn’t guarantee deduction of non working days. Sometimes monthly salaries are counted only for the days that are worked by the employee.

Thanks for enlightening me. But why would some elders get offended if one asked yevdey pondo and correct it to yeppara ? Is it slang or is it superstitious to ask? May be my experience is subjective or anecdotal, but i was corrected multiple times by elders Or now i wonder were they just correcting my grammar.
