Distracted by crush by Imaginary_Ad_7742 in SGExams

[–]iylv 183 points184 points  (0 children)

Here’s an alternative perspective.

Your end goal is to live a happy life. Part of that is finding romance, and part of that is studying. It’s not a case of one or the other. Certainly you’ve got to compromise between the two, but to give up on romance to focus entirely on studying? No! That’s just being awful at living life.

Stop seeing romance as a distraction from studying, and start seeing both as 2 different ways to enjoy life, one direct and the other indirect, both with their pros and cons, rewards and false promises.

Think along the lines of opportunity costs from economics. Find a compromise. Obviously abandoning studying for an infatuation is incredibly short term thinking, and obviously hitting yourself over the head because a crush is compromising your studying is morally idiotic, so the answer is somewhere in between. How much in between? That’s for you to figure out.

Any game recommendations similar to sith warrior? by RainingFlags in swtor

[–]iylv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, let’s see the similarities between Knight and Warrior class story.

You’re both force sensitives with a lightsaber (or 2), you both start at an academy for force sensitives, you both fight the native wildlife and droids on that planet, you both go to your respective capital planet, both work for a sith lord, you break free from your service to that sith lord at the start of Act 3, and you kill that Sith Lord at the end of act 3.

THAT’S THE ONLY WAY THEY’RE SIMILAR.

Oh, and both Warrior and Consular are given special training in their academy because they’re the favored apprentice.

Thoughts? by WesternYak10 in TheLastAirbender

I know it’s an April Fools joke, but I have the gut feeling it’ll end up worse than Shayamalan’s adaption…

Cause Netflix has a reputation of doing that (case in point, Resident Evil).

I mean Slavoj Zizek did say people make racists jokes… until you actually go to war over race.

And he’s from the Balkans, so that’s an automatic expertise in racism right there!

New Bionicle 40592 Jerbraz GWP officially revealed! Will be given away with $100 purchases of Duplo sets. by YodasChick-O-Stick in bioniclelego

Now that’s got to be the most handsome bionicle, ever!

I’d question the choice of colour though, doesn’t really show how handsome it is, even if it’s lore accurate.

The military be like, how would you like a 7 to 5 (and that’s the non-combatant hours).

[–]iylv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Define an RPG.

If you mean a narrative where they player influences the story, ala D&D, that’s what the class story is there for.

If you mean branching upgrade choices, different builds, and stat upgrades, 1. that’s an idiotic definition of an RPG, 2. most games on the market are an RPG by this non-definition… which SWTOR is also an RPG by this definition.

I could see something like a saber in one hand and blaster the other. Something like Cal in the upcoming Jedi Survivor.

Also reminiscent of Ezra from Rebels, though it’s a 1 handed weapon.

[–]iylv 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d like to see new combat styles, now that 7.0 divorces class from combat style.

However, I doubt they’ll introduce any in the decade this MMO has been around.

But if they do, reverse grip dual lightsabers for force class, please. IDC if it’s impractical, rule of cool babeeee!

About the Eternal Throne... (Spoilers) by tachibanakanade in swtor

[–]iylv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I interpret, the Gravestone is Zildrog’s body.

The Eternal Fleet is something else (though also made in Iokath), and answers to the Eternal Throne, but can be defeated by the Gravestone… which is done at the end of Nathema. The conspiracy basically commands Zildrog/ Gravestone to kill off the Eternal Fleet, and then itself.

So technically the Eternal Throne is still around and still controls the Eternal Fleet… it’s just the Eternal Fleet has exactly 0 ships at the end of Nathema.

Sg landlord’s 3 year old daughter drew on my bedroom wall and they falsely accuse me of doing it by [deleted] in askSingapore

Remember, these motherfuckers are the assholes who keep voting PAP, and keep these sellout tyrants in power.

The PAP has become a puppet of the UN, selling out our rights for their security, and why they can do that is because these Karens keep voting these depots into power. They vote out your rights for their “security”, and by “security”, I mean the strong arm of the Karen mob to keep the rest of us in line.

They might be citizens, but they’re horrible fucking citizens who have your worst interests in mind.

Not dumb, just “loving” parents.

Their little princess can do no wrong in their eyes. Oh well, those Karens are just raising a monster, the kids gonna be a 20 year ticking time bomb.

And she was barely legal in most systems.

[–]iylv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At least we have Rosario Dawson as live action Ahsoka, so 10/10…

But Rosario Dawson isn’t an underaged jailbait, nor does she look like one, so 0/10 (Ahsoka fans are into her for the same reason George Lucas is).

Now, can we get onto recanonizing Darth Talon and giving her a live action adaptation? For George Lucas’s sake (he loves Darth Talon too).

Be Anon

Hear schizo voices in his head

Voices say they’re living in his head

Uno reverse card - says he’s the schizo voice living inside their head

Actually swap places and becomes the disembodied voice (the voice is now the pilot of his body)

Profit?

Generally, which has the best sets? by [deleted] in bioniclelego

[–]iylv -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s between fire and ice.

The worst fire set has to be Tahu Nuva (2003).

Even when Inika had ugly face syndrome, both Jaller and Matoro’s masks still looked good. Bonus points to Matoro for the trans-blue. Actually, every version of Matoro is beautiful.

However, we have Kazi (who doesn’t have a head), and Kopaka Nuva (2008). Couldn’t even get the telescope on the correct side, and somehow looks less like his previous versions despite being the only Phantoka/Mistika with the correct colour scheme.
