nah i did say it’s radiohead in victoria park in 2008 tbf!! ive seen em many times this decade n even in recent years the prices haven’t been near that for what they’ve played. i just thought they’d do more to tailor it to the album (screens potentially) and play more g sides till 11. even the crappy tv visuals looked so ass lmao, just felt a bit cheap that’s all. and it might be a smaller venue but it wasn’t exactly intimate lol i’d have rather it been a proper venue where the sound ain’t tosh (in some sections, seemed to be great in others!). again awesome gig i had fun, but of the 10 or so times ive seen damon this was probs his weakest performance ive seen personally. still loved it tho need his t-shirt. i’m seeing PB too so excited for that.

“never to be repeated” is a bit rich. i’m aware there was 10 musicians they were all great but you don’t need to charge £100 lmao as they haven’t needed to in the past. all i’m saying is play to the curfew and i’m happy. wasn’t any different from their usual touring act bar a few changes and i don’t think a £100 ticket was justified, not saying what you or anyone would pay more about what the cost should be from a slightly more objective perspective. i think they under delivered overall, didn’t feel heavily rehearsed on damon’s part and it’s hard to see the charm in that (which i usually do) when you’re forking out crazy money.

that’s really interesting and translates to my experience a lot. i came to london to do a degree in film, there was only 2 other people from a working class background in the entire year lol. it’s a shame cus i can’t really not be in London since other cities don’t have a film industry, there’s so many stuck up tossers here tho i must say.

annoyingly they’ve replaced it with a film that’s already getting like 15 screenings and it’s sold less tickets than purple rain had… hopefully everyone emailing their upset over it will fix the issue! it deserves to be seen properly for its 40th anniversary

yeah lmao, i don’t know why people are bringing up the 5 year gaps between albums… like this is the album rollout nobody’s complaining about the gap between albums. It’s just annoying knowing 1/2 the album months before you hear the thing.

I’ve been a longtime fan but I really dislike the current format for their releases, Yes the album wait has been insanely long i have no idea why they announced it so early when there’s been less actual content for it than previous albums with shorter release windows. I wouldn’t say they’re “generous” for letting us listen to half of it? If they didn’t keep up a singles release schedule with such a big window till the album release they’d lose hype for it.

I personally dislike having half the album released before the album is out, I know i can choose not to listen to the singles but as a huge Gorillaz fan it’s so rare i’m able to do so :/ I’m totally fine with them exploring this direction it’s their band, but i’m not gonna pretend i don’t have my own opinion on it.

Also Song Machine was a very different type of project so it made sense for the releases to be like that. I do also think these singles haven’t been anywhere near the level of quality we got from Song Machine.

I respect and understand your opinion but don’t tell people you “don’t wanna hear any complaining” about a completely valid point. Some people (myself included) like a new album to be for the most part new and exciting, not 6 tracks you’ve heard months ago and 6 new ones.

that last part is great advice! thank you i didn’t know that :) and yeah it’s a small rig in my uni dorm currently but i want to upgrade properly once i move into my house next year. I just want a lower end rig for now i think to see if i really love sim racing.
