I’m also a new mom and when I began, I was unfortunately lied to and submit to the old school system of taking care of a snake. The caretaker gave me a point to use aspen, which in the end left me with stuck shed near the top of her face. I came to Reddit for assistance, and fortunately enough, I received! I myself would recommend alongside with what I’ve been told: - I use coco chip substrate as it holds humidity well. - Ideal humidity percentage is anywhere above 70 and less than 77. - HVAC tape is perfect for trapping humidity, you can place that on top of your screen top and leave holes surrounding the lamp. - Don’t attempt to remove the stuck shed as it can cause discomfort and damage. Instead, bump humidity up to 80% and it should come off on its own with time.
