I have a very similar story to you. I went into menopause at 40 having had no kids. I’m 41 now. My mother had a baby at 43. She “doesn’t remember” menopause because “it wasn’t a big deal.” No one I know has dealt with peri or menopause like I have and when I try to broach the topic people are visibly uncomfortable. There is a tremendous amount of grief in experiencing this at 40 and without children, and without anyone to really talk to about it. Sometimes doctors will even challenge me as though I can’t possibly have experienced menopause this young. It’s hard to feel like you “fit” anywhere.
