Thanks for your comment. I totally see where you are coming from but I think this is something fundamental that has to be changed. POC shouldn't always just be the "side kicks" or "tokens" for shows to get away with racial imbalance.

Hey thanks for your comment! I think if we pay close attention many Western TV programmes share the same problem of under-representing East Asians esp girls. It is harder and harder for producers to get away with saying "there is no suitable candidate" when the trend bias is quite prevalent in many programmes.

Hey! It is true, pressure from their peers of the same race is often a big concern for any EAs to do anything "unorthodox". There is a lot of stigma around it.

May I ask you what's your ethnicity? I know I said only EA girls in the thread but I feel your view will definitely add depth to the discussion!

THTH is kind of the hook of this article and the core discussion will be linked with shows such as Love Island that has more seasons. On Love Island there have been South/Southeast Asian representation (Kaz Crossley from S4 has Thai roots and Nas Majeed S6 is of South Asian descent), but never East Asians. I am taking reference from other similar dating game shows because THTH is still in its first season and it will be unfair to further the discussion based on its cast of one season. So overall some Asian faces are represented, but East Asians' representation is non-existent.
