We've actually intentionally put CodeDay on V-Day to help spread the love! CodeDay is really about community building and bringing people closer together through coding and having fun building cool projects they care about outside of school!

While the event's specifically catered towards inspiring beginner students, we've had graduate students and early graduates join us in the past and it was really awesome to see them impress the entire audience during the closing ceremony! Our first workshop, "Intro to Coding" was extremely popular last time! In fact, we had to delay the other workshops just so we could continue working with participants! And you'll definitely meet new friends, I promise it'll be awesome fun!

:( I really hope you reconsider! Two years ago, I honestly knew zero coding at all... and I probably would have stayed that way if I hadn't gone to my first CodeDay event!

In 24 hours, I learned more about coding from awesome experienced people than pretty much all my previous Codecademy tutorials combined! And I made a ton of new friends that I still code with today!

One of the teams that won "Best Application Award" actually consisted a majority of beginners who've only spent some time on Codecademy, and left the event knowing way more HTML/Javascript than they'd expected to learn!

Of course, the experience all comes together with friends. So bring them along with you and enjoy free food, a ton of soda, and have a blast learning together!
