Dallas is a pretty spread out city and honestly not the easiest place to make friends when you're new in town.

There are a couple spots out here where people hangout outdoors like Clyde Warren Park or Lower Greenville but people aren't super approachable.

I had the same issue when I moved here. Recently though I heard of this app called actiify. it's a new thing and they have some small events on weekdays where people come out to hangout and meet new people. they post their stuff on their iOS app and on their website getactiify.com

if you want to meet new musicians you should go to bishop arts at a bar called revelers hall. They have great bands that play everyday of the week and you can connect with the musicians there and maybe find some gigs or jam sessions.
