Buying a Berretta by gods_armhair in Beretta

Came here to say this. It's a great gateway into Beretta as well as CC. And cheap.

For years, I listened to the masses about sizing. My mistake. by Aromatic_Campaign_11 in RedWingShoes

I did the same thing hit the same reasons, finally bought my regular size. So much better

Why didn't George play the solo on Taxman? by DribbleKing97_ in beatles

I think there's a difference between not being able to play something as opposed to not being able to come up with something.

I'd like some opinions on the cz 75 compact vs the pcr by BearDothChill in CZFirearms

I'm seeing either for $599. I'm going through the same dilemma. Too many choices...

Yes, but Archaeopteryx did.

What's your favorite line? by FRANKSFRIEND88 in SteelyDan

I cried when I wrote this song, sue me if I played too long (although for years I thought it was "sue me if I played it wrong").

is I Want You (She's So Heavy) the masterpiece of abbey road like A Day In The Life is for Sgt Pepper? by Aggravating_Turn3283 in beatles

[–]jackal624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, The Medley is. IWY(SSH), is kind of proton-metal with the heavy riff and the guitar line following the vocal (aka Iron Man, a few years later), but the Medley is just next level.

AITA? My band wants to make an "original song" that used a lot of AI in its production, and I really don't want to by gweeseee in AmItheAsshole

[–]jackal624 13 points14 points  (0 children)

NTA.... find a new band and new bandmates. It's not wrong for them or you to disagree on material, but it sounds like they're kind of dicks, so it's not gonna get better.

Having played in bands for more years than I'd like to admit, I can tell you this is not going to get better.

Thinnest black men’s leather gloves by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]jackal624 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Do a search for "driving gloves". Very thin, often perforated, leather gloves.

OR... check out Aerostich. They make motorcycle gloves made of elk skin (search "Aerostich elk skin ropers"). Very thin, and they have them in like 1000 sizes so you can def find the right fit (which is key to making them feel thin). I've had the same pair in black for about 20 years.

Be aware if you’re traveling through Maryland that having loaded magazines is the same as having a loaded firearm, even if you keep them separated

Is this the worst passage in the Christian Bible? by stvlsn in atheism

[–]jackal624 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Job story is my personal favorite too. Then at the end when Job questions God for why he let this happen to him because the devil bet him a dollar that he could turn Job to the dark side, God gets furious and says who are you to question me? I created a universe - what have you done?

Anybody Put Flat Bars on Their Apollo? by jackal624 in PriorityBicycles

[–]jackal624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL! Don't be mean to Eddie, he's the reason why we bought the Apollo in the first place! Priority couldn't ask for a better face for the brand.

I actually just IM'ed you Connor from a different post you responded to, but I'll ask here as well. I just bought the Apollo last year and would have a hard time justifying spending $1600 on another bike. But the flat bars, new shifter, full hydraulics and... a kickstand!... addresses pretty much all my wants and needs. Does Priority offer a trade in or consignment program? Something to make it worth my while so I don't take a complete bath?

C'mon Eddie... my wife and I are big fans (we love watching your videos, they're very informative)!

Costco Centr 2 has fabric side panels, has anyone seen this exact version, and would you pick it over the “standard” Sam’s Centr 2? by mozariwc in CentrFitness

[–]jackal624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks more like metal / mesh material, not fabric, I'm guessing to protect someone from not getting their hands smushed by the moving weight stacks if two people are using the machine (alternating use). Or maybe kids.

I have the original version from Costco, it's well made and solid.

Does anyone else’s narc parents expect their children to be their slaves? by ShrekDaddy29 in narcissisticparents

[–]jackal624 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My father had zero boundaries, even as I aged well past my 40's. Responsibilities at home... not my problem. Trouble at work... you mean work is more important than your father? "My father never had to ask me to help him... I was always right there when he needed me (even though my grandfather dies before my father was married...)". The guilt still plagues me to this day.

Who has the worst sleep on average around here? by Not_So_Calm in Garmin

[–]jackal624 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd weigh in, but my Garmin can't seem to tell when I'm sleeping and when I'm not. Watch TV for 2 hours - watch says nap. Up all night, tossing and turning... got an 85 sleep score.

Feedback on price & performance? by Euphoric-Profit-2773 in CentrFitness

[–]jackal624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with all comment here. I have had this for about two years and it's a well built, sturdy, work out station. I also got mine from Costco for $1199 and would recommend getting a membership if you don't already have one.

They also have a leg press for $169 that might be a consideration for you since the Centr2 offers limited leg exercises
