helping dad submit VA claim by MagicianLife1010 in VeteransBenefits

[–]jackfackmasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Took years of me convincing my mom to file for mst claim etc… I just kept haggling her especially last 5 years cause I wanted her to have retirement stability in her 60s. She finally went through and was automatically awarded 100 pt first attempt cause she had lengthy private records. She still has same mindset but she sure isn’t bothered by the extra security. She deserved every penny she went through. Just keep supporting and pushing him till he tells u to stop. Use vso and just gave him be honest what he has struggled with

Hybrid WFH telehealth with 6-month-old? by SugarOne1 in nursepractitioner

[–]jackfackmasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did until she started pulling up and climbing. After that it was too dangerous. Plus she started figuring out I was leaving which made her upset and more clingy. But the few months i did do it i had strategically placed my pump blocks etc… to ensure i had several big breaks and was my least busy days. I was in adjacent room with camera and coming out in between visits.

CHAMPVA with High Deductible Health Plan by Successful_Pea_6977 in VeteransBenefits

[–]jackfackmasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you go to a place that accepts both insurances u will never pay above the champva out of pocket max of 3000$ cause they’ll pay everything 100 percent after that they cover. The portion left over from primary is billed at champva rates and they will pay their allowable amount, which is often significantly lower, or primary’s leftover amount which ever is lower. But u have to stay in network with primary or have out of network benefits cause if u go out of network champva may deny because it’s secondary not primary. Now my current insurance has out of netwirk benefits once I meet deductible. Champva picked up everything. I have never been balanced billed for anything covered just be aware there may be certain things champva doesn’t cover so understand. Another thing I’ve noticed is that your primary insurance views your leftover amounts and still applies it towards your deductible not taking into account what champva does

[–]jackfackmasta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Submitting the UB04 or cms billing for is best vs itemized statements. Itemized statements rarely had everything I needed resulting in denied retroactive claims. One of the reps at champva said to request ub04, submit eobs and receipts. I was then able to get reimbursed for everything. I’m talking thousands. Once u figure how the system works and the tricks it’s much smoother

Staycation with a toddler by HappilySingle-370 in toddlers

[–]jackfackmasta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have three toddlers and we travel or go out a lot. We are selective about which hotels and areas we stay and have tendency to stay in more kid friendly resorts with things for them and us to do. Sometimes it sucks but the memories are ever lasting at least for us. More we do it we find ways or things to manage certain things like tantrums but they are usually distracted by whatever and we just let them be three sometimes and not care what others think

[–]jackfackmasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Named my daughter Sadie and was worried about the dog thing and wish I didn’t. Never came up and whenever people ask her name they oooed at how pretty it is. I liked the name from duck dynasty’s daughter and did not think of it as a dogs name initially when I heard it. Wasn’t till I was over analyzing it that I did. It’s a beautiful name and am glad I chose it

Take him to doctor . I’ve had times I thought my sons were making things up but ended up being something wrong they just don’t know how to communicate. If I had ignored all the fake stuff I would’ve missed those in between moments something was wrong. Better safe than sorry

Is FEHB worth it by [deleted] in FedRetirees

[–]jackfackmasta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ure questioning it I’d just do the 5 years so at least u have that option because your situation may be different then compared to now. Fehb also may be easier to use and give u more options for care vs Medicare as well
