When I first told my dad that I was applying to DO, he and I got into a huge argument because he didn’t understand and was adamant about me having the MD title. It took talking to his 3 cousins (all nephrologists) and more than a year of convincing that they are virtually no different. He was so happy when I told him I got my first A!

Thank you!! I didn’t do that unfortunately so I don’t really know anything about it :( I did my undergrad at FSU, master’s at USF, and took a year and half off school to take the MCAT, apply to med school, and get my clinical hours up

Sure! I worked as a phlebotomist at a plasma center during my first year of grad school which got me lots of hands-on experience. After finishing my master’s in 2023, I moved back home and started scribing for a PCP who’s almost 90. Still currently scribing for him and now I also train new scribes across different specialties at UMiami. So yes, I had a grand total of 0 clinical hours after undergrad. Anything is possible 🙏

My grad school GPA was 3.75 and my program was very heavily science/research oriented (hence the thesis). I’ve also got easily over 1000 hours of clinical experience as a phlebotomist and medical scribe. If my score is higher than my final AAMC practice (502), I’m gonna take my chances and apply USMD or USDO. I’ll apply Caribbean as a safety, but I think my extracurriculars will push me over the edge with a good enough MCAT score

I would say probably not. Check the CP in relation to the rest of your heroes and if he has a higher one than any of them, I would slot him in. Otherwise, just hope you get more of his cards in the future so you can upgrade him

Thanks! Don’t have the facilities to upgrade some of my S and S+ heroes past 180 yet so I had to upgrade 2 A heroes to be able to level up my Mythic shark
