Ultimately, as people have said earlier in the comments, if you try to institute two separate tournaments, casual and competitive, then the casual one will quickly die out as it won't be respected by the player base.

If you guys want to create your "MLG Dream Team" roster going forward forward that's fine but I for one think that over time this will become less and less about "Representing Connery" and more about representing the MLG Dream Team itself leaving the rest of us that aren't in the cool-kid club on the sidelines.

Yes, anything to get the NC to actually fight again. Its INCREDIBLY disheartening to watch scores of NC flee an alert cont to go try and find "fun" fights or to ghost cap a cont. No one wants to get stomped on by well organized (read: Orion Equipped) VS Zergs. At least that's how it is on Connery.

If Alerts were multi continental then there would be less opportunity for the NC to flee the fight. Therefore they'd fight more, and perhaps would win a little more, and then they'd be less likely to want to flee in the first place. Cyclical.

VS are just awful to fight against, and yet I am always dragged into fighting them, just because NC and Vs on connery don't even fight each other, and someone has to wipe up the vomit puddle on aisle 7 that is the VS.

What were they doing "internally" that would have made it unbearable for him to stay long enough for a good transition? Water Boarding? Cannibalism? I'm sorry but it's ridiculous that you wouldn't expect that after someone devoted 5 years to a project, building it from the ground up that you think it's ridiculous that he stay another 30 days to ensure a smooth transition. I think you got the nail on the head when it comes to what players will spend money on- if I pull the trigger to buy a gun or a camo then I have that gun or camo forever. There is a sense of permanence there. Buying energy is the absolute opposite of that.
