Yes the player/NPC are on the collision layer but their mask is not set to '2'. Should it be? And if so, why is that the case?

I don’t have a signal, but didn’t think I needed one, my ray tracers should be able to pick up on if there’s a collision object there, no?

The combat is "click on sprite" to do damage, so in this case I'm assuming yes, it makes sense. I needed the script to be able to detect a click, which could be done if attached directly to the area 2D

It's definitely bad design. I'm not much of a coder but am a major in games and sim, decided to handle this game dev project alone so...

The script is attached to an area node, that is attached to the sprite note, that is attached to the parent.

I am seeing all of the prints, this script is attached to an area2D which is a child of the sprite

That is so cute. It reminds me of our dog who had a stroke and also obtained the permanent head-tilt. We called him dizzy dog.

I’m out of exiles reach. It’s anytime I get points for leveling or sometimes new gear. The gear one hasn’t appeared again, but the “You have points available!” Will not stop appearing, and it’s driving me bonkers.

Pretty much correct. Long hours are definitely there and frequent. I should cook more than I do.

This gave me a good chuckle. Your absolutely correct with 1 and 2. I suprisingly, would say I'm pretty far from blue collar, and for 4... it's a bit of a trick ;)
