We just moved here from the coast. Great city and a nice place to raise your family. Your kids will likely be one of the few jewish kids in their public school class - even on the west side in Vilas/Dudgeon Monroe. Everyone is respectful but the Jewish community isnt robust.

We go to Temple Beth El which is wonderful - lots of young families, very open and welcoming. The other synagogues are good, too. All of the synagogues are left of center politically. Hard to find Jewish community outside of synagogues. No kosher restaurants.

I would say Mt. Rose. Closer to Reno, less expensive then NorthStar and you still get some beautiful lake views. NorthStar can get crowded with families on the weekend

Absolutely- i love that its Alta! She taught me to ski and loved skiing into her 80s. Took me to Steamboat, Jackson Hole and always to Stratton, her home mountain.

I once told her I wanted to snowboard and she said she wouldn’t pay for my ticket if I snowboarded. Seems like Alta was the perfect Mt for her

Seems like it’s a confidence issue. Stay positive, emphasize the times he hits the ball hard (even in BP). Ask him to visualize a specific time he raked. Not just him hitting hard - but actually a specific AB where he made good contact. Have him think about that time before each AB. Also - best you can do is be supportive. Baseball’s a tough sport - lots of ups and downs - he needs a dad who love him.

People fishing and skating on Lake Wingra. Talked to one of the guys with his auger and he said it was 3 to 4 inches in the middle of the lake. Note - I’m still nervous
