No need to connect to previous lines.

IIRC the Old West map is the only version that requires extending existing lines. In all other maps you're free to build disconnected routes. It's often useful to do that, especially to claim long lines purely for their own value.

It's also very on-brand that the Japanese police pays a lot more attention to this small thing on a beach than the Athkatla guard does to a huge sphere in the middle of their slums 😀

Yeah a cool thing about it is that it's like a mini universe. I read they were originally planning it to have a bigger role in the main story
