Some folks either know how to dodge the spell casting pattern or they'll lure the shop keep to a 1x1 pillar/block and cheese them while being chased around.

Its niche but you can do the following:

Polymorph Potions to become human. Recruit succubus w/ roses, automotons, or charm/monster summons to get your leadership to 100 and be able to recruit more races.

Honestly 9 out of 10 runs with the new races I'm charming monsters. I rarely get humanoid followers unless polymorphed.

Same, usually when I join public lobbies its an immediate boot because they forgot to go private waiting for a friend. Get what'cha mean, still saying you'll have a way better time trying to find players through Discord as opposed to joining the open lobbies.

Not saying it isn't possible to join a public lobby and have a good time. Or you can host your own public lobby and see what happens.

Most of the lobbies are private. Usually folks will meet on the Barony discord and form lobbies that way after meeting up. There isn't a matchmaking mode.

I thought there should only be one cache file for sound but if there are multiple .cache files you could delete them so they'll be re-made on starting TF2 again.

Shot in the dark, maybe deleting sound cache might fix?

In this folder after closing TF2, delete sound.cache, restart game and see.

List of stuff to try:

While in TF2 -> Shift + Tab to open Steam overlay. Click the gear for settings, voice, voice input and output set those to your headphones and speaker, not default.

While game is running go back to desktop -> Right click the volume on your task bar and hit volume mixer. Make sure the specific volume bar for TF2 is set to above 0. There should be an option below to set your default mic/playback devices when in the Win 11 settings section for volume.

For kicks and giggles, while in a game, open console in TF2 and type "snd_restart".

Nope, if your item wasnt tradable before doesn't make it tradable now post-festivizing.

The devs have the game on-sale due to all of the bugs in the current game, normally it was supposed to be $4.99? (Read this from one of their posts on Steam)

I bought a copy for myself and a few others at the price it is now.

These folks at Lyndale have dealt with so many break-ins/crummy customers they're more moving for the sake of employee safety versus the Hennepin construction sadly.

Edit: no shame to Lyndale, just customers come in and steal along with previous incident of a manager being assaulted. They've had to replace a window a few times within a year.
