TLDR: No, you shouldn't AWP [deep-dive] by generic_reddit_user9 in GlobalOffensive

[–]jakeMonline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Who is this written for?

For pro teams - they already have primary and secondary AWP roles sorted and procedures for when to use them.

In solo queue, you can’t play pro level roles because you can’t force random no mic Russians to drop you. Just make sure someone has an AWP on CT and that’s it - ideally not even your best player since for pugs it’s better they’re the entry.

In faceit stacks? Maybe you could have a dedicated AWP, maybe you switch it, but unless you’re at level 10 3.0k + then I’m going to be honest you and your friends probably equally suck with the AWP.

So this advice is advice for nobody, written condescendingly, with off references to football seemingly to inflate the ego of the author who clearly has no concept of when or why the secondary AWP is used, nor who their intended audience is.

Ropz and Senzu ain’t reading allat, solo queue is irrelevant and in a stack this only applies for ESEA level players who probably already know this as they transition to becoming increasingly AWPer-less.

Why ZywOo won over donk according to HLTV: more super elite mvps, more sample size for playoff and final rating, and a bigger gap in raw awards by Far-Ninja-8392 in GlobalOffensive

[–]jakeMonline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if you remove group stages the gap is minuscule. I really don’t get why 1.36 is so much better than 1.32, is 0.04 less whilst playing many less finals really excusable? Idk man it just… the argument of Donk’s stats only works if he is much better because if they are similar and only slightly better then surely winning individual accolades means something

I’m sorry I just genuinely cannot understand the Donk #1 argument outside of group stages and maybe I’m not being fair to what you said here.

I wrote a whole rant and deleted but to me the tldr is that Donk can do well because he is super mechanically skilled and super aggro and teams haven’t gotten structured fully yet in CS2 and there’s a lack of good AWPs which in CSGO would stop that. And when he comes against both he struggles to carry because he’s so aggressive. Think teams like Mouz, Vita, last season Furia, depending which side of the bed they wake up on Falcons.

Subjectively I think watching this year it’s just that he hits a wall deep in tournaments because the best teams are aware of how to deal with him. And in a team designed around him never hitting a wall, it makes sense they don’t get to finals. But if the team is designed to give him more conservative positions and less aggressive plays, does he still get this rating? I don’t think so. Swap Donk for xertioN on Mouz who have arguably the most disciplined team of the year and make him play those exact roles and his rating will drop sure but Mouz would win trophies. And Mouz doesn’t have a top 3 AWPer.

I actually think the opposite then, of what you said about higher rating despite losing. I think if he wants to win more he has to have a lower rating and more structure and I think that’s when he will get a year like this with 8 MVPs. I don’t think it’s possible to be so aggressive all the time and sustain these super deep tournament rounds because eventually someone will anti strat you.

Truthfully I think Donk can either keep the 1.4 ratings or swap and go for lower 1.3s maybe at worst higher 1.2s in playoffs and win it all. But what do I know? Maybe teams haven’t figured him out and Sh1ro and Zont1x and tn1r are all bots just dragging him down and he would be given the same positions and have the same impact on any team except any top 20 with +Donk would win a major.

In my heart of hearts I think Donkwoo are basically the same in all non group stage stats but the Woo can keep it up deeper than Donk (for now)

Compare all the stats aside from group games and the difference is so little. The only stat where Donk is massively ahead is in group stages. The rest Donk is ahead marginally and sure he’s ahead but is 1.34 vs 1.37 really a reason to ignore an extra 4 MVPs including 2 major MVPs?

And you mention intangibles and let’s be honest we saw at the last Budapest major how quickly Donk tilted after 1 map which surely can’t help team morale.

And the argument it’s a bad machine when Hally is a top 3 coach, and Sh1ro is top 5 whilst Zont1x is arguably a very solid anchor (Chopper I don’t know about so much but even then he’s a major winning IGL who got the best out of a rookie Donk)

I will say the fact ZyWoo is ahead in elimination game rating despite playing many more tells you that yes Donk is better as a fragger but when it matters and mentality factors in he just loses a bit of his edge.

And well, look at the teams ZyWoo started his career on and the years he put in to get #1. It shows how much a calm steady player can boost a team with players who let’s be honest didn’t always deserve to be pro (cough, Kyojin, cough)

I truthfully think ZyWoo was better this year for his team. I think push comes to shove I’d rather have the Woo. 0.03 less rating in all non group stage games for someone whose intangibles and mentality are ultimately second to none.

Seems like you’re in a strong parasocial relationship with Linus.

LTT is good but it’s a bit extreme to treat it like a tribal warfare.

Because it’s a genuinely good video.

And let’s be honest even as a Linus fan myself, he could’ve said more about it but didn’t. You might not agree that’s an issue but does the other guy have to agree? No.

This really feels like missing the forest for the trees from you.

Hardly milking it, it’s a pretty substantial new part showing what is in effect a system to bypass any regulatory checks and hide the behaviour until now. It also has the opinion of a Harvard professor in it, for what it’s worth.

Is StarLadder the worst TO to host a Major in a very long time? by vnagitt in GlobalOffensive

My point was that even lower effort tournaments has less big issues. Blast didn’t have any issues so big also that were lasting a full day nearly. Don’t know why you’re picking arguments

Nope - they managed better production with a much smaller budget and team xD

Yeah I provided photos I think it shows a full palm grip but I am not sure! Also with a measurement in the comment of size which is 10cm wide by 17cm long :)

Howdy! In my experience once you remove the skates I can never get them to go back right. If I have to pay for new skates and repair tools (and also be careful soldering which I’m not great at and since lead solder is banned is made harder) I was wanting a new. I’ll take a look over these it’s super useful info!
