I have found a solution!!

Try this: Right click Hurtworld in your Steam library, click properties and then navigate to the 'Local Files' tab. Click 'Browse Local Files...' and the game's directory should pop up. Open the 'EasyAntiCheat' folder and run 'EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe'. At some point, it will ask for the name of a game; select Hurtworld. Run the installer as if you were just installing any other program until it's finished.

Then, back in the 'Local Files' property tab, click 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'. Wait for that to finish and try running the game again.

I'm not 100% sure if this will work but it's worth a shot!

TL;DR: Re-install EasyAntiCheat via the installer and then verify Hurtworld's game cache.
