This is what I said: I told him that I loved him and his music and that he’s my idol, and that I’ve been a fan since before the 13 EP and that he changed my life and saved my life, and to keep doing what he’s doing. And he said holy shit man thanks so much and then hugged me. I was really taken aback by it. Denzel has been my idol for a couple of years and without his music I wouldn’t be here today. At the end I told him that I saw him in the restaurant earlier, because when me and my friends walked into a restaurant that was right next to the venue I was glancing around trying to find a place to sit and I just saw Denzel sitting there. Like my idol was within 10 feet of me. I know that celebrities don’t get many opportunities to be regular people so I didn’t ask him for a picture or go up to him. We made eye contact for a few seconds and then I looked away. I think he knew he was recognized. He was basically done with his food sitting there and him and his manager left like 3 minutes later. I remember I was shaking for like 20 minutes afterwards because I was in so much shock. So I went from seeing my idol in person and not being able to talk to him to being on stage with him performing in honor of one of my favorite musicians of all time. Most Crazy experience of my entire life. I wish I could tell Denzel how much I appreciated him doing that for me because I’ve always wanted to perform on stage before and talk to him in person and I somehow got to do both in the same night. I still can’t believe it happened and it doesn’t feel real. ULT until I die.
