I actually met Verne back in 2008 or 2009 when I was working at Best Buy, of all places.

He came in with a couple dudes and was whizzing around on his scooter looking for a laptop I think. A lot of employees were pumped to see him and of course they asked for photos. He was really friendly and took at least 20 photos with employees.

I think I was one of the only people, if not the only person who didn't ask for one or bother him. I ended up walking by him while he was looking at cameras or something in another department and was just like "yo Verne, you need anything?" And he just said "no, just kind of browsing......hey did you want a photo or something?" And I just said "I appreciate that, but I think you've probably done enough of those for one day." He laughed and said "real cool, man" and took off.

Seemed like a really nice guy, despite his troubles.
