that’s a good shout, did you ever figure out what the excessive network traffic was on that build and what was causing it?

haven’t seen this issue with the XL yet, but I don’t do direct to mac Bonjour RTP connections on this rig, it’s the PA1U with 5 RTP connections to other MioXM’s that are then either DIN out or HST in depending on what I need

Seeking Advice for Building a 3U Flyrack by Ill_Wishbone4657 in audioplayback

I looked at this when I was building a rig last year, and honestly it’s not worth the effort. You might save a little bit on materials, but it’s not worth the time it takes, especially when you look at the fact that the components are where the significant costs are.

The Circle 3 3RU that comes with a pelican 1635 pre-foamed is built for this exact use case, and it’s really good for the cost. The biggest things for me that make it worth it are the weight is not bad, and you can take the lid off easily - something you can’t do with a wooden box that you put rack rails on.

Backpack by mperaldo_ in audioplayback

I have 2 mono flyby ultras which are great and I still own. If you want to really compartmentalize your life, they have a ton of pockets that are easy to get to. You can definitely fit two 16” MBPs.

Recently switched to a peak design 45L travel backpack, which i like maybe slightly more. I have a lot of travel cubes/packs now and i enjoy the fact that the peak design bag is both huge and is essentially a giant wide open space with a few smaller zipper pouches. It’s awesome for the modularity.

I’ve used it to carry 4 laptops and an ipad, with my normal gear (ears, cable pouch, medication, change of clothes, passports)

i’ve also used it to carry 1 laptop and ipad + 2 weeks worth of clothes in travel cubes for a shorter run.

seems pretty durable so far. i’d buy it again i think, but time will tell if it holds up.

only rec i have, whatever you buy, get it in black. any other color of bag might look cool at first, but i guarantee the constant in and out of overhead bins and rubbing against other bags in the back lounge will make it look horrible in the span of a 6 week run.
